The Avatars must be driven by human drivers with a DNA match to the avatars. This point is firmly established in the first film. Regardless of being able to download a human's memories and personalities to a new avatar, and being able to transfer that data to an avatar, the avatar still needs a human driver with a DNA match for the avatar to function. This issue is NOT addressed in the new film in regard to the "evil avatars" and remains a major plot hole, IMO. The entire rest of the film depends on fans not questioning this major plot hole. Just as the evil colonel targeted Jake in his linking chamber at the end of Avatar 1, why can't the N'vi target the liking chambers the evil avatars are operating from? The entire premise of this second film is based on aspects of the avatar program the first film lays down and then totally ignores. I am very good at suspension of disbelief when it comes to any media but this film asks me to totally disregard anything laid down as canon in the first film, and I have a serious problem with that.
