It also annoyed me how Timmy says he was killed- but no one else finds out why he did it? Like if the dad killed Timmy because he was bi, then why didnt he kill him the night that he hooked up with his son? Why wait such a wierd timeframe? So after Timmy gets killed then Isiah’s gayness is cured? It was never addressed that anyone knew the dad killed Timmy and Isiah’s story ended after a creepy sleepwalk? Were the boys abandoned after their dad died..? Lol I agree- even though they both did the wrong thing, there is a big age gap between the two brothers. Kevin should not of been held to the same standard as Buzz and Kevin’s reaction was on par for a child versus a bratty teen who intended to humiliate his little brother. I was more shocked that the entire audience- including his family- found it hilarious to join in on ridiculing a child. During the ‘explanation’ the family should of also apologized to Kevin for egging it on by laughing. I would of liked it if they made a ghost angle on this. Sadly the illusion is lost after Duncan is seen speaking to the police officers by the end... I agree. Besides, i was confused as to how the room service cost that much.. I understand hotels charge an arm and a leg, but it was the 90s.. He didnt really get that much other than the desserts, dry cleaning and rental videos. Maybe $500-$600 worth. Whereas the pizza and limo were ‘compliments’ on the hotel, due to the fact that the concierge was shaken up by believing he had walked in on a guest in the shower and wanted to smooth things over. If there were other costs that went unseen within the movie, then the parents should of been happy that he figured out a way to feed himself- obviously he was going to choose a child-like diet. The only people they had to blame for the bill was themselves for being so irresponsible as to lose their kid for a second time. Kevin always copped the unfair brunt of other peoples wrongdoings. What makes you think she was a drug addict or only interested in purchasing bird food? Not all homeless people are drug addicts. As she said in the movie she ‘trusted’ the person she loved, until they didnt love her anymore. She could of been mentally impaired in some way and thrown out by her partner and was just unable to get back on her feet after that. Its no surprise she only spent time with pigeons/lacked trust if the general view of her by society is that she deserved to be ignored. This is also one of the points that she makes to Kevin is that everyone is fighting to be heard, as no one likes being ignored- just like Kevin was within his family. Macauley was made to do this film by his father who was known to be abusive and was stealing his money. Im pretty sure Macauley wasnt even interested in filming this- and shortly after he gave up on acting.. for the timebeing anyway (i dont think he came back till adulthood.. but even then its periodically. He mostly keeps out of the spotlight now, unless its on his own terms, like through his social media/podcasts). I dont think a year really would of made that much of a difference.. I’ve always loved both, and believe they both have their own individual charm, unlike some rehashed sequels. It goes along the same story lines but ups the ante in various ways, making it enjoyable rather than tiresome (unlike Hangover 2, which wasn't amped enough). They both offer different Christmas feels such as at home versus abroad, and i like the message that Christmas can be felt anywhere. On another note, i think i liked the pranks against the robbers in the second one better.. I think you completely missed the point of what Kevin learnt by meeting her. She was rejected by society, as was Kevin by his family. They were both considered ‘black sheep’ and were off putting to an extent. But there is goodness to be found in both of them- as Kevin said, otherwise the pigeons wouldnt have liked her. She had a good heart, but as it got broken, she had become accustomed to pushing others away to keep herself safe. I dont see what would warrant you to say she was a nasty person.. Sounds like you would of been one of the cold people that would of rejected her just based on appearance- which is a childlike stance to have on the matter- and one that even Kevin learnt to outgrow.
