Agreed. Beth definitely hates Jamie more than anyone else.
Hopefully. But every episode I wonder if something bad is going to split them up.
Damaged and strong and weak all rolled up into a complicated mess. Sometimes her character isn't likable but other times I root for her to win and kick butt.
If she had sabotaged her adult relationship with Rip then I might agree but I think she is more complicated, perhaps embarking on personal recovery and healing story line. Perhaps.
Interesting theory. I think she hates herself more and that is why she has self destructive behavior sometimes. Maybe she hates herself because she blames herself for her mother's accidental death, and maybe also because of her teen abortion. Maybe it is easier for her to project hate toward Jamie than take any personal responsibility for anything. Maybe she and Jamie were always competing for papa's love, leftover bits not given to Kacey the favorite. Maybe she hates her dad or maybe she really hates and blames Jamie for everything and wants to ruin him. Her character fascinates me. Excellent writing and acting. Kudos to the cast and crew.
