Yeah, but why has he not been called out on it? How can someone even question the Holocaust and think they have moral or even logical ground to stand on? I still like Arthur and 10. I think those are 2 of his most well known. Considering how many high budget movies are flopping. I am surprised they did not even attempt to give it a wide release. It was as not a high budgeted. It just seems like the studios did not even care to lose money if they put it in limited release. He is a good actor in my opinion, but he is much more prolific in directing movies that can be hit or miss. I wouldn’t waste your time with that guy. He will just use name calling and say you’re wrong with no evidence or facts to support it. Yeah, I lost a lot of respect for so many people on the list Scorcese, Del Toro, Milius, Mann. I did not have a lot of respect for Portman but lost all of it after I saw she signed the petition. Since she was such a supporter of MeToo. My problem is when reporters asked her about it her response was that “it was a different time” when she signed it. No. Child rape was wrong then just likes it’s wrong now. It was never right. Sadly, Roman Polanski has had a long and fruitful career. When he was detained in 2009 for attending a Film Festival (I do not remember the country) so many people signed a petition to asking the country not to extradite him. It was sickening. This was a man that drugged and raped a 13 year old girl and then fled the country to avoid prison time. Now people are starting to question it due to MeToo Movement. It was wrong then and it is wrong now. Every person who supported him or signed the petition should be held accountable. Bamboozled definitely is one of his misses. He Got Game and Inside Man are good movies that are well made and entertaining. Yes. It was very good, but due to the casting of actors and the ages, they are going to definitely be changing some historical facts for the movie. I read the non-fiction book it is based on and I hope they don’t go with his actual age because he cannot cannot pass 25 and only has a minor but photovoltaic role in the book.Robert De Niro’s character is also supposed to be 51 in the book. Also Jesse Plemmons FBI agent is supposed to be one of the main characters yet he only appears in the last hour of the movie. I just find it strange that Scorsese claims he wants to do the true story justice but is changing around the characters and focus on the story. He does look much younger than 48. But he is not playing an older character;in the movie he is playing a real person who is supposed to be 25 years old during the time the story is set. The original is a very amateur film that is super low budget. Remakes are usually a hollow cash grab by the studios, but this remake is far superior and worth the watch. It is not a great film, but it is decent and entertaining. Oliver stone is not subtle at all, but Spike Lee is obnoxious is how over the top and obvious he is. If you want prove watch or better yet do not watch Bamboozled. That is the most ridiculous on the nose ridiculous satire on racism I have ever seen. In the movie yes. In the book no. True. They also got Richard Burton, James Earl Jones, and Louise Fletcher. Cast was top notch. It was the directing, story, execution, score, and ridiculous effects that were the issues. I think it will be a sub-par film. You would have to actively do everything possible to make a film as misguided, bad, and bizarre as Exorcist II: The Heretic. They could not even get Ellen Burstyn back for that one. I saw a little bit of Village of the Damed on tv and did not care for it. Carpenter later told an interviewer he did it as a contractual assignment and he was not emotional involved in the film and it is one of his least favorite movies. It is a shame because half his movies are great to good and the other half are downright bad. From what I heard he got burned out and lost his passion in the late 90s and 2000s. I actually liked it. If you want to be very disappointed with a Carpenter film there is always Ghost of Mars and Escape from LA. I don’t think Scorsese needed DiCaprio at all to get funding. He was able to get funding for an over 3 hour $200 million dollar film several years ago. If Scorsese asks DiCaprio will do it. I just was hoping they would put more focus on Plemmons FBI agent as he is arguably one of the co-leads. Also having read the book, DiCaprio character is not the main character. His role in the book is very small but pivotal, so I am guessing Scorsese rewrote the movie to give him a much bigger part. Not sure how this will work out for the movie in terms of the story.
