Innocent Blood is actually a unique take on the vampire horror genre with comedic elements. Highly recommended. Oscar, is not great. It is a take on the screwball comedy of the 30s and 40s. It did not deserve all the hate it got but Stallone was miscast.

Yikes! I would only do that as punishment. My Dad picked it out at Family Video and fell asleep twenty minutes in and forced the rest of our family to watch it. My Mom who is usually very soft spoken and easy on all movies she watches called the film terrible.
It is not his best film, that is for sure. It is shocking that he makes a masterpiece like Uncut Gems and then stars in other Netflix trash. You just have to keep telling yourself that it could be worse and is not Jack & Jill.
Going to have to disagree with you on that and the movie clearly is not endorsing the father and shows how the family was destroyed largely because of it.

The ending strongly indicated to me that they both died. They had serious wounds with no medical assistance near them or any that were coming.
It went by very quickly, so it was easily to miss. Did you like the movie, because everyone I talked to has been split down the middle with either loving it or despising it? I liked it, but it does have flaws that require characters to behave strangely and if even if they deviate slightly from the intended plan of Oliver the whole thing would go up in smoke.
They showed that Elspeth signed it over to Oliver. She had no one left in her family and thought that Oliver cared about her and the family.

Care to be a little more specific? Do you hate the director or actors? Not a fan of historical inaccuracies or no interest in the character? I saw it and thought it was okay.
The book is was adapted from is very good. The movie is poorly adapted where the director could not come up with an ending, so he just decided to end the movie in mid scene. Even the author of the book hates this adaptation.
Bernstein was bisexual, so based on that I assume it is.
Probably the best way to watch is historical fiction. Many events are dramatized and character invented and compiled. It is a very entertaining movie and expertly made. However, Stone is and has never been subtle. He is very into conspiracy theories and this movie is no exception.
