The term "NPC" has been around since the 1970s. Either her agent worked out a studio contract, or she's talented on the casting couch. It's a shame this sequel didn't happen in the '90s or the '00s. Anime is thriving just fine. Pokémon is the highest grossing media franchise of all time. Dragons were a positive symbol to the Celts of Europe and the British Isles and Ireland. Later Christians demonized them. Remember, King Arthur's surname was Pendragon. Meant its popularity wasn't at the same height. By '88, I remember playing Pool of Radiance and Sid Meier's Pirates! at my friend's house on his PC clone. So yeah, we had moved on from primarily being interested in console games. Yeah, you are remembering correctly, the Cabbage Patch craze had waned by then. And, as you know, Lite Brite was more of a '70s toy. The people who make these clearly didn't live through the '80s. Stranger Things particularly grinds my gears in this regard. I was a teen in the late '80s--those kids are dressed like the very early '80s. You'd think there would be production and costume designers in Hollywood who are my age. Same thing with Stranger Things, it doesn't accurately capture the look or "feel" to me. Also they kept playing Obsession by Animotion which was from '84. New Wave songs weren't often in rotation on the radio by '88. Also heard "A Town Called Malice" by The Jam which was from '82, and was a bit more obscure in the US. I don't remember hearing it on pop radio; you'd have to have heard it on a college station. You mean Neolibs. Leftists oppose IdPol. View all replies >
