The Borden that walked out with Jess at the end... the one who lives, was Jess's real father. HE was the one who loved Sarah. The Borden that hung was the one who loved Olivia. They each lived ½ a life, so of course they both cared for Jess. But each only loved the woman they loved. That is why Sarah knew that half of the time, "her husband" didn't really love her. Interesting that for all the conversations throughout the show, there was never a lie told. That is unless, it was told my Angier out of spite toward Borden. Stereo-types exist because mostly.... they are true! Yes, even those against my own race and gender. That is just the way it is. The Red Violin is such a lovely film, it is a shame you couldn't just enjoy it. I loved it from beginning to end..... "stereotypes" and all.
