You’re 100% right on this. Hollywood has never been so embarrassingly formulaic as today, yet the writers choose to ignore the fact that their hyper-overcompensating political correctness is exactly what should be being lambasted in a modern Scream movie. Woke morons. Humor of color? Thankfully for the most part no, but the producers couldn’t help shoe-horning in ‘PC-wokeness’ by showing how much the show means to people all around the world- all of whom are either black, Asian or gay (we know this because it’s the first thing out of their mouths or they can’t wait to parade their same-sex partner in front of the camera). Major face-palm... Fiumicino harbor (seven years late I know)! It's obviously not happening, but Kathleen Kennedy is unable to admit mistakes (not ideal qualities for a leader) so will shy away from announcing it's cancellation publicly. Rather she'll keep quiet and hope everyone forgets about it in time. Not only is it the worst Star Wars movie, it's the worst movie I've ever paid to see at the cinema. No. According to Daisy Ridley they didn't even know during filming of TROS! They flip-flopped back & forth between no lineage, her being a Kenobi, and eventually Palpatine. It's unbelievable how mismanaged the trilogy was considering it was in the hands of a mega-corporation! This comment literally made me lol, well done Sir! 100% agree. A massive part of the appeal of this movie is the wish-fulfilment factor- just thinking about 'what-would-I-do-in-that-situation' really let's you put yourselves in the main character's shoes. Obviously it's a horrendous situation, but there's something so alluring about securing yourself inside the vast space of a shopping mall while an outside threat is (temporarily) unable to get to you. I agree with this- I was pleasantly surprised how funny and good-natured Danny Steinman was about the film! Yeah I can't help but feel it would be sweet if he got together with Megan after the closing credits, but then I remember his actions directly got Megan's father and all of her friends killed in the space of 24 hours. Not the best foundation for a healthy relationship... Yeah the whole paintball scene was wholly unnecessary in my opinion. They should've left it out. It also creates an inconsistency as later when the police find the bodies of the two head counsellors that Jason killed after puncturing their car tyre, they also find the remains of the glasses-wearing dorky guy with the paintball gun in the same spot. This doesn't make any sense as the counsellors were killed the first night Jason is resurrected. Then the next day he stumbles across the paintballers, after we are shown he has been stalking through the woods with intent heading back to Crystal Lake. So really the two murder scenes should be miles apart. Lol, this is also the reason why all the 'walkers' in The Walking Dead died wearing long-sleeve shirts... I've just rewatched Part 5 & 6 and you're right, this is pretty tame. But I would say that Part 5 was cut to shreds on the violence front as well- it too cuts away before most of the killing blows, and it's more noticeable because it has such a high body count. Obviously the sleaze factor is way higher than Part 6 due to all the nudity and language but Part 5 really doesn't have much to offer on the gore front either. This makes a lot of sense, and adds to the tragedy of the final few hours in the mall. Tearing down men to prop up women by making all the male characters incompetent or a-holes and the female characters strong & independent with little to no character flaws (arguably Laurie is an exception due to her psychological issues, but her paranoia ultimately pays off at the end when all the female characters lay waste to Michael). It’s a run-of-the-mill example of modern Hollywood forcing a feminist agenda into an established franchise. Yeah I genuinely thought it was going to be Michael Myers takes a cruise, like Jason Takes Manhattan with that stupid title! It’s a clumsy part of the story for sure. I don’t know why John Carpenter didn’t just have Smiths Grove be within ten or fifteen miles of Haddonfield instead of 150 so that it was plausible for Michael to make his way there on foot. I guess the scene where he escapes the hospital would be less dramatic but still... I highly doubt this. Even if it was an actor in makeup, CGI was used to enhance it. It’s immediately obvious with the fake-looking lighting and movements. There is no bigger atmosphere-killer in a horror film than obvious CGI, and this one was ravaged by it. Sure, why not. I mean, Disney Star Wars exists in a weird sexless universe so it would be bizarre if there was an actual element of romance or emotion shared between two characters. Unless of course it's between two background women who briefly share a lesbian kiss that will be axed from the film in China because it's great to pander to PC culture in the West but not so much in the East if it will affect your box office takings. Way to be classy, Disney.
