Eat at Judy's was a diner in Odessa, Texas. You're welcome. It's been airing all month on cable. Have you seen THE STATION AGENT? Michelle also has a role in that film as well (which is also a peak into the world of someone else only it also goes MUCH DEEPER into that world than this film does). After doing a search to see which countries in Central Europe grow sugar beets, here's what was found:
Most of the EU's sugar beet is grown in the northern half of Europe, where the climate is more suitable. Your message is brilliant. Very well put and insightful !!! ANATOMY of a MURDER is a wonderful film ... watched it a couple of weeks or so ago on TMC. Also found lots of really interesting reviews of it as well. The Criterion Collection, for example, was one of them. https://www.criterion.com/current/posts/2155-anatomy-of-a-murder-atomization-of-a-murder
the truism goes, Hollywood gets everything wrong with stunning regularity. The rare exception is Otto Preminger’s Anatomy of a Murder (1959), widely considered among the finest trial films ever made, and maybe more universally loved by law students than by cineastes.
Here's another link: https://the-artifice.com/anatomy-of-a-murder-art-observation/ Anatomy of A Murder: The Art of Observation Otto Preminger’s Anatomy of a Murder is more than just a film dealing with the court system: it stands as a realistic and meticulous observation of American life at the time. It was adapted from John D. Voelker’s novel that he had based on a real story in which he was the defense attorney, and Preminger was careful to depict the affair close to how the real case had been conducted. The theme of observation is developed in every aspect of the film. The director aimed to observe and depict the legal system in a scientific and realistic way. In the story, characters observe each other and all are aware that the way they appear will build a specific image of them, and will impact the way they are judged in the trial. Finally, the theme of observation is also developed in the film’s style through Preminger’s observing camerawork which encourages the audience to examine every detail in the film in order to construct their own opinion and meaning of the case, like a real jury
they brought Lisa's affair with him into the script just so the audience would question Maya's paternity
Yes exactly. As you may recall, Ruth is also the one who FORCED Nate to marry Lisa (due to her CONTROLLING personality). So NATE marries his former roommate who LIES to him telling him she's pregnant with his child, when she also knew Nate was engaged to Brenda. Then he discovers the child isn't his child (meaning he shouldn't have married her especially when she also waited about 9 MONTHS before telling him that she was pregnant). And the reason for Lisa waiting so long was probably also so Nate wouldn't count the months and figure out that he wasn't the father. What was/were your favorite episodes??? Who were your favorite characters??? 3 WOMEN is an EXCELLENT FILM. And yes Shelly's performance is also OUTSTANDING. Apparently people now are too busy watching BORING MOVIES with COMIC BOOK characters in them to appreciate works like this one??? You tube has it but the quality isn't very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MR0VYy-kvg Enough Said 2013 | Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener Where a mask. That stuff's not supposed to be good for the lungs. Can you build one like it??? Shelves like this: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/da/62/c0/da62c0109d571bd0ae238d0fe8ddc4d0.jpg A search shows many different types of Infinity Shelves. I'll ask the neighbor how many she has but I'm pretty sure it's only in the hundreds or thousand range & not in the 30K range like your collection!!! Was Slimone really a bot K??? What's infinity shelving? The neighbor keeps going to yard sales and estate sales & buys boxes or bags full of dvd's for $5 or $10. Sometimes she'll also leave bags of dvd's hanging on the front door for me. What's ARROW,SEVERIN,SCREAM & SHOUT FACTORY,ETC RELEASES??? How can a bot register and post messages here at Movie Chat??? 🤔 Hi K, How's the DVD collection going? Got a neighbor who's into the same thing. Just watched it today and feel the same way as you do about it. Right before HANK shows up at her home CONNELLY told Liz he would expose the COVER UP (Navarro killing Wheeler) if she didn't drop the matter of trying to find the ICE CAVES where Annie K was killed. Cops like Connelly don't need evidence because they can also set someone up and manufacture it if it doesn't exist. And Connelly also knows what happened to WHEELER cas HANK broke into PETER's computer and then told Connelly about what he found. Try to keep in mind how Hank was HIRED by the woman who runs the mine to MURDER OTIS. Therefore she'd also hire someone else to get rid of LIZ, PETER, & NAVARRO if that was necessary. Anyone willing to POLLUTE the place and kill NEWBORNS, etc. has no moral code. The case would most likely just never make it to court with that woman running things. If there was one, The JURY would probably also end up on her PAY ROLE as well. RULES are nice when everyone obeys them. The problem was the way the MINE and the SCIENTIST didn't feel obligated to do so. First they kill Annie. Then HANK kills OTIS. And the women caused the deaths of the SCIENTISTS who killed Annie. So why not end the story with Liz doing the same kind of thing the other women did??? Those women couldn't depend upon the law for the death of ANNIE. Liz didn't think she could depend upon it to deal justly with the death of HANK. If I were Liz, I'd probably have also PROTECTED PETER the same way as she did. Because she'd also become a SURROGATE MOTHER to him and he'd become a SURROGATE son for her (due to the way she'd lost a son and he'd lost his mother). Therefore, also making their relationship and the situation more EMOTIONAL for them than one based upon REASON, LOGIC, or RATIONALITY. And wasn't SPIRITUALITY vs RATIONALITY also an ONGOING THEME throughout the show??? LIZ also champions RATIONALITY until the ending when she sees her deceased son under the ice and Navarro tells her how he'd said "HE SEES HER" (as in the "PEEK a BOO-- I SEE YOU" game that we repeatedly see her playing with her son). At that point LIZ also LET'S GO of her RATIONAL side which is also the reason why she chose to COVER UP HANK's death for PETER. At least that's the way I see it. Since the Mare story was a detective story, and TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY is also a detective story, you'd might like NIGHT COUNTRY more than this story. It's also interesting how many of the NIGHT COUNTRY characters are also people that you're not used to seeing on a regular basis (unless you live in Alaska where it's supposed to take place ... or in Iceland where it was really filmed). Because you also get to learn things about their culture and their way of life. So be sure to check out NIGHT COUNTRY. The story also begins with the last day of SUNLIGHT due to the way that they remain in a constant state of DARKNESS for an extended period of time up there. Wise acre??? Wasn't the term the used back then WISE GUY??? 🤔
