The MCU = that kid from school that always screws up, but always gets the second chance No Uncle Ben - No Spider-Man He Hates White People Cap will die, he will wield Thor's hammer, but everyone else will live, including Gamora. Probably the most disposable, badly written MCU movie since IM3 The creator of Ra's Al Ghul said that Batman Begin's take on their relationships was better than his original version This Movie Have Not Aged One Bit Doesn't This Movie Defeat The Point of Spider-Man? If it wasn't connected to the Joker or DC, it wouldn't be a movie. Dumb-ass argument. Is it hard, to type while you have Disney's balls in your mouth? You're getting hard by counting somebody's money. Congratulations. Pat yourself on the back. I know people really like to dismiss Lieber's contribution to the creation of the many Marvel characters, and in some cases they have a point, but in this case you are the one who is severely mistaken. First, Stan Lee came up with everything about Spider-Man. From the name, to powers, to origin. Ditok visualized his ideas, but he did not create them himself. It was Stan who wanted to make an ordinary kid into a superhero. Second, Jack Kirby had absolutely nothing to do with Spider-Man. In fact, there are barely any drawings of Spider-Man done by him. TASM sucked big fat dick, Andre. The OG trilogy with Tobey Maguire was the most accurate depiction of Spider-Man in live-action. You know that it's a fact, schmuck. The same way Christian Bale is the best Batman in live-action. She can't be an accurate representation of the comic character if she acts like the exact opposite of her comic counterpart. If she was meant to be Gwen Stacy, then yeah, no real big change here outside of race-swapping. The UU Gwen was a bad girl and a bully when she first appeared. So that would fit. But MJ has never been that. MJ has always been a kind soul that respects Peter. Zendaya's MJ mocks Peter and even gives him a finger at one point. She should be hooking up with Flash instead of Peter, since she bullies Peter just like him. That's not MJ. I love how almost everyone shits on Dunst's MJ, calling her a horrible person and a horrible representation of MJ, but then they praise this crap. Dunst's MJ actually stood up for Peter when he was being bullied. That alone makes her more likable and MJ-like than Zendaya. "but I'd argue that Zendaya's MJ is a very accurate representation of the comic book character." Comic book Mary Jane would never bully Peter or make fun of him. She literally showed him a finger in one of the scenes from Homecoming. No, she's the opposite of MJ. This godawful version of MJ bullies Peter and acts like an annoying brat. And she's not popular. Nothing like MJ of the comics. He's half-British, half-American. "A poorly made film would fail at the box office," Iron Man 2 was a poorly made film. (Mickey Rourke hated working on that film. Jon F. was disappointed with it as well.) It didn't fail at the box office. Thor 2 was a poorly made film. (Almost every person who worked on that film hated working on it. The director said working on that film was wrenching. Christopher E. hated working on it. Hemsworth said it was "meh".) It didn't fail, either. Age of Ultron was a poorly made film. (It was the reason why Whedon left the MCU. He hated working on that film.) It made only on 100 million less than the original Avengers. "In fact, had Captain Marvel not been a well-made film, not only would it have flopped, its lack of quality would have decreased interest in Endgame, and chipped away at that film's box office potential. In other words, you have it backwards." Nah. The Avengers didn't fail because the three movies that preceded it didn't hit a high mark. The hype is bigger than quality. Endgame will gain money because it's Endgame. It's Captain Marvel who will benefit from the Endgame, not the other way. "Marvel made yet another great film," Nope. "and its box office speaks to that." Blade Runner 2049 didn't make any profit. I suppose its box office speaks for how bad it was. "The end result was even if you feel CM was a less than mediocre movie" I'd say it's even below that. "Marvel had every intention of putting out a crowd pleaser." Like they did with Iron Man 3 and Thor The Dark World? "There was so much more to gain by doing that than by consciously pushing out a turd." Which is why they pushed a turd on us. "Meanwhile CM might still get an Avengers:Endgame bump." Very nice. Disney becomes even richer. I can't be happier. "There would be no reason for that to happen if the movie was indeed as terrible or as off putting as some say or think." Yeah, sure, pal/ma'am. View all replies >
