Yep, what an incredible episode. Now I want a continuation of the 90’s Spider-Man animated series even more if Marvel can deliver the same quality of emotionally impactful storytelling that this X-Men revival has achieved. It's not bad considering it's budget was only $10 million but yeah it did seem to struggle to fill the two hour running time, especially in the second act. Worth a watch but won't be revisiting again anytime soon. $10 million budget apparently. The action is quite impressive but there isn’t much of it. For me The Last Jedi is by far the worst Star Wars film. It felt like punishment for liking Star Wars, for wanting your childhood hero Luke Skywalker to be heroic. You wanted to see Luke kick some ass and be a hero? Well we're gonna subvert your expectations and have him be a miserable old man who sits around whinging for most of the film. Even that crappy animated Clone Wars movie is better than this. Spot on, the audacity they had to do a remake a classic in the first place as well. The same thing is happening with The Crow remake and the Oldboy remake. Certain films should just be left alone. The very first trailer for this abomination doesn't even have any funny moments in and surely a trailer at least contains one or two of the best jokes in the film just to get audiences to go and see it. It's also the most disliked movie trailer on YouTube. I watched the film as well and tried to stay as fair as I possibly could but it's truly one of, if not the worst blockbusters of the 2010s and definitely the worst of 2016. I'd love a definitive ending as well for these two characters as they're the only two characters from the main show left that I actually care about. Yeah I think that's another thing is it just seemed quite forgettable even if some of it was enjoyable. It just seemed to take a long time to get going and then the ending felt really rushed. Glad you enjoyed it though and I do hope it does well at the box office as Ghostbusters is a fantastic IP and I would like more films. I might give it a rewatch in the future and I might like it more, maybe I did go in with too high expectations. Agreed, so much filler! The film is just oversaturated with plotlines that didn’t need to be there. It needed the main plot and then the subplot with Phoebe befriending the ghost and that would have been enough. I just thought it was unfocused, poorly paced and didn’t have as many laughs as Afterlife. The subplot with Phoebe befriending a ghost was good but there were just long stretches of the film that I found to be quite boring. I like Ghostbusters 2 though so we also disagree on that haha. Really wanted to like Frozen Empire but it just didn’t click with me unfortunately. Just got out of seeing it myself and yeah it’s really disappointing and a massive step down from Afterlife. Just such a shame, this is a fantastic IP and I can’t believe how slapdash the whole film was. Ezekiel has surely got to be the most incompetent bad guy in any superhero ever made, right? He has enhanced physical strength and agility, he could have killed every one of them so easily at the fireworks factory at the end just by jumping at each of them and then snapping their necks. Agreed that the film is laughable though and it's failure is entirely on the script. Surely these writers (who have written Gods of Egypt, Morbius and now Madame Web) are unhireable at this point and have proven what hacks they are. Interstellar should have won best picture as it was the best film of 2014 and one of the best sci-fi films ever made but it wasn’t even nominated. Oppenheimer was good but not Nolan’s best film but the Academy couldn’t ignore him for much longer, especially when he makes a historical biopic that the academy will absolutely lap up. He's one of the best living directors along with Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. Polytechnique to Dune: Part Two is one of the best runs a director has had ever with not a dud amongst them. He didn't even write Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, Arrival or Blade Runner 2049 and I remember those films for their strong images rather than any line of dialogue. It probably is a bit of an exaggeration of him to say he 'hates' dialogue considering how well written the screenplays are for his films. You can have all the visual wonder but if your writing sucks then you end up with a turkey like Jupiter Ascending rather than a masterpiece like Blade Runner 2049. I really struggle to find fault with this film, coupled with Part 1 it is one of the best sci-fi films I've ever seen. The changes from the book really worked for me as this film focused on Paul, Chani, Jessica and Feyd the most and less on the weirder stuff from the book. The whole point of Dune (according to Frank Herbert) is a warning of the danger of putting your faith in charismatic leaders and this film goes out of its way to demonstrate that with both Paul and Jessica's actions as they use their abilities to manipulate the Fremen. Chani not liking who Paul had become was great, it added unexpected conflict and drama to the film and made it more emotionally powerful. Would have loved if Warner Bros had allowed Denis to film extended versions for both parts like Peter Jackson was able to do with his Lord of the Rings films as I would love some more scenes with the Baron, the Emperor, the Princess and other characters so that's my main 'gripe' with the film. I'm still just grateful we got this visually breathtaking adaptation of one of the best sci-fi novels ever written. It really is a pile of shat. Just Ridley urinating all over his legacy with this one. He said he regrets making this over Blade Runner 2049 but if this was the effort he would have put into the latter film then I’m glad he didn’t make that as well. Apparently the Spider-Women are only in costume for a few minutes of the film haha. Maybe Kraven the Hunter will be good? Oh who am I kidding that film is going to suck as well. It’s possible the Venom-Verse is Andrew Garfield’s universe but I really hope he tells Sony ‘no’ if they ask him to reprise the role. No Way Home was a fantastic ending for his character after the two mediocre Spider-Man films he was in and it’s clear that Sony haven’t a clue what they’re doing with their live action films. With mostly negative reviews for Madame Web I highly doubt Kevin Feige wants Madame Web to be in the MCU, the MCU is already struggling enough as it is to win back the fans after some of the mediocre/bad films they’ve been putting out lately. Thought it was one of the funniest new shows to come out in a while, genuinely laughed out loud many times during each episode. Agreed, it’s not a comedy despite some funny moments. It’s like putting Breaking Bad or Succession in comedy. Sure there are funny moments but it is mainly drama.
