Slow mo makes destruction beautiful.
Most film festivals are open to the general public. Some of the bigger ones can be tough to attend if you're outside the industry, but most are very accessibly. Most are playing films well before they'll be available to watch by the general public. Honestly, film festivals don't get enough outsiders at them. It too often become just festival staff and filmmakers in attendance watching films. Great way to see something fresh.
