I'm glad to see somebody owning up what being a man really is. We are all those things. It's the awful truth. Men who don't agree are just lacking self-awareness.
Fair enough, all politicians embrace bullshit.
Gotta agree with you on some points. Overall the series felt like a bundle of short stories Louis always wanted to tell so he put them all together in the show and loosely tied them. Louis acting is too monotone, if I was him I would dedicate myself to write and direct and leave the acting to someone else.
I loved Alan Alda and Steve Buscemi, too bad Alan left too early.
My theory is he killed himself because moments before he felt a strong bonding moment between he and and Pete when he inadvertently calls him son. I think he couldn't bear the connection he was starting to feel towards Pete and decided to end his life.
I think it's more on the line with Shakespeare, not because of the beautiful prose or classical theme but because of the never-ending streak of bad things that happens to the characters.
I like the show, but yeah, it takes stuff from you and gives you very little good things in return.
I think he was. Blanchet also mentions that possibility, but it was probably another one of her fantasies. I think Stanley sometimes tried to impress her. And he was in an awfully good mood the beginning of the night his wife went into labor and he was alone with Blanchet in the apartment. But then he notices how delusional she is, and rapes her knowing it won't have too much consequences.
It's amazing how our brains form these Pavlov-esque conditionings. It's an awful movie for a kid to see, anyway. I'm glad you can eat dumplings now.
They should have deep fake the scenery instead, because Vietnam looked like shit.

I felt in love with Aguirre but yeah, after reading about his daughter's allegations, I just couldn't think of the movie in the same way.
