That was definitely not what I expected, but a good movie. You never knew what would happen next. Everyone was great and Pattinson nailed it. Very dark! I agree with a lot of the reasons other people have already suggested. I'd add that it was another opportunity. He got what he wanted by manipulating people. He could tell she was into him, so he took advantage of that - maybe it would make her more likely to give him what he wanted. Did anyone else think he wanted to rob her ex-boyfriend's house? It's still a thing. It's pretty specific to certain subgroups, like broke musicians. Llewyn could ask Al even though they just met because they both knew Jim - they were both part of a community where crashing on a couch isn't uncommon, so the request doesn't seem that outrageous.
