Yes, you nailed them all! First thing I thought! Besides the huge, loft-like apartment. The frumpy ADT guy is similar to the handyman in Lady Beware, who installed the locks on the windows. I was hoping someone else noticed this!

I just saw this movie for the first time since the 80s. Back then, I thought it was a little boy until they called her “Ellen”. The short hair and boy clothes bothered me then and still bothers me today. Not sure what the point of that was.
Maybe by today’s standards, but back then, that was pretty risqué.
Looks like a facelift where the skin has been pulled too tight. That’s not natural aging.
I assumed the boy did it to himself later due to being traumatized, but it wasn’t exactly clear. They should have either explained it more or left that scene out.
I thought he had offed Julia too, LOL! Yeah, the guys with the fake watches should have been either more prominant in the plotline or not there at all.
At first, I thought that he had swallowed the gem to smuggle it in and that was why the colonoscopy was in there, but no, the scene seems pointless, unless someone else has some insight.
I agree. The trailer made the movie look way more exciting than it actually was. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not as good as I expected. If you didn't see the end, you really didn't really miss much. (I won't give away the ending just in case). Especially at 2 hrs. 15 minutes, they really could have condensed it some. It wasn't so good that it needed to be that long.
