I agree. I remember the scene where the lawyer denounces the “real author” of the Caine Mutiny and throws a drink in his face. I was disappointed by what we got here

Agreed, it was a terrible movie. And the "Yippee Ki-yay MF" moment at the end was so dumb and anticlimactic
Agreed. So much boring talk between characters. They don't know what's going on, so the writers have them shouting out random fan theories.
And the other 10% is dream sequences that add up to nothing more than cheap jump scares.
The ballerina sequence seemed intriquing, but nope.

YES, those two scenes were funny. I'm glad that they didn't censor those scenes for "modern audiences"
And that speech to Brad Pitt was a gut punch out of nowhere, which gave the movie a bit of gravitas.

Yes, the acting is uneven. Some of the acting is High School-play levels of bad.
But the twists and the drama make it worth watching.
