It's just not the wizard of Oz Americans are fixated on tho. They make just as big a deal over Gone With The Wind...and the Rocky movies...um let's see..how about the movie A Christmas Story. Is that big in your country? Here it's played for 24hours every Christmas Eve starting at 5pm until 6pm on Christmas day. On two cable channels. Pretty sure. Interesting. I probably won't get a chance to see it until next week. I just can't get over how Chucky looks from the trailer. I am surprised alot of people on Twitter are saying they liked it. Alot of people think the wizard of Oz was like the first colored film ever because of the beginning being in black and white and then it turning into color when Dorothy steps foot into Oz. This is not the case though. But I'm sure it's a huge reason it resonates with so many..the film is kinda a Urban Legend in that sense. Besides that there is other reasons why. Like the LGBTQ community really latching on to the movie. I think because of the "over the rainbow song"..the gay community has for sure helped keep the movie alive. Also to get back to urban legends people think there is a scene where an actor hung himself on set and it made it into the movie..a munchkin. Naturally even non fans of the movie will watch it out of morbid curiosity. Also the network television stations keep it alive because they play it so often on TV. In addition to it playing every Christmas season now and it's not even a Christmas movie... people associate the movie with Christmas because it's ALWAYS played at Christmas time on TV. It's the same for Charlie and the chocolate factory. In addition to their Christmas runs, they also are played every few months on TV as well. I remember being 12 and wanting to watch it at my friend's house in the 90s...I think Cable has brainwashed us to want to watch it...and for that it's become like one of my favorite movies ever... Charlie and the chocolate factory as well. Just one problem..neo Nazis tend to be racist..just like the extreme alt right. You know the white supremacists that March in the night wearing polo shirts, holding tiki torches and shouting "Jews will not replace us" that's the alt right. And the extreme left is against those types. No. I don't think a remake is necessary. But my opinion doesn't dictate what Hollywood does. We may not want it, but a remake will happen eventually. This does seem like the most logical explanation of the ending/movie. I just wonder about the memory of the woman having about the mines and the other survivors that started to go crazy(she hinted at cannibalism). I was itching to watch one of my favorite movies from the 90s. So I looked to see if it was on Amazon Prime to buy..Nope. It's also not on netflix, or Vudu. I was frustrated i couldn't watch a movie in 2019 via digital download. Seems It is on Directv in their over 50000 movie catalog though. That does me no good as I have Dish Network. So I looked for a bluray and as you all know was disappointed there never was a release. There was a UK release though but that disc won't play in my Region A bluray player. (usa). So as a last resort I tried to find a DVD and they to are hard to find..For some reason the 2001 dvd releases go for crazy amounts on ebay. I think it's because the Artwork looks better on them. Anyways I was able to find a 2001 release from a goodwill that sells things on ebay. Scored it for 8 bucks(used). I am excited for it. Same. And if it was a matchup it's really tough..The terminator from part one against robocop before his Humanization level turned down..That would be easy. Terminator all the way. Now If you were to put the T2 Terminator against that same Robocop..Robocop ftw. Because T2 was pussified by john connor. Of course one could make the argument that Robocop would defeat any terminator because Humans Seem to be able to handle T1 pretty good. Sarah was a true girly girl in Terminator 1 and even she survives. Sarah was jacked and i am pretty sure grew a dick in T2 and would destroy the terminator in T1 in my opinion. Naturally robocop would do the same. I am 34 and I watched terminator 2 first..around 1993 when it came out on VHS. It's probably why I have always preferred it to the original terminator..I will say though as I have gotten older. I have grown to appreciate the first terminator. It's raw and gritty..scary 80s action. Well I mean it wasn't an exclusive coffee shop..it was a drive in theater concession stand...I'd be shocked if she had enough coffee to fill that order. Without having to make another pot. There is nothing original anymore. Someone is always taking from or sampling from something that has already been done...and yes i remember that episode very well. But if you think that Simpsons episode could hold a lick to US you are dead wrong. US is one of the best horror films I have seen in a long time. Wasted Talent? Nah. She was offered roles in her acting range i think...and yes they were for sure trying to turn her into the next Hillary duff or Lindsay Lohan. Thats what the hollywood machine does. I honestly don't think her acting is anything above the movies she starred in. It's not a bad thing.. I would agree with this. This movie is not as good as the naked gun movies. It tried really hard to be though. And no one can take that away from them. I looked as vegas vacation as the writers wanting to pay homage to the first vacation the most..By visiting Cousin eddie and his family. That scene was perfectly done and I can totally buy that it would be like that 14 years later. Cousin Eddie was the Chef again only this time He wasn't grilling on a grill...He used a Hot Rock because of the Nevada sun LOL. Cousin Catherine was Pregnant Yet again just like she was in the original. They had the kids being reintroduced..Then they Had the interaction of Vickie and Audrey..Oh and I almost forgot the scene where Eddie explains how he taught his daughter vickie to strip..there was another creepy scene in the original where Vickie hints to Audrey that Her dad taught her how to french kiss and says "but daddy says i'm the best at it" As for society being way more careless in the 80's and 90's about things like that...I grew up in the 90s and I think my feeling was the 80s were way more creepy. Everyone just seemed like a creepy rapist/child molester in the 80s...That said When I look back at my own childhood in the 90s...from like the ages of 11-12 I can clearly remember me being in situations where I was super close to being molested. It never dawned on me until many years later when i was like 25 or so(i'm 34 now). I feel like as each decade came n went pedophiles were better at keeping their true selves and intentions hidden. Exactly my thoughts MinorityRules... I agree it wasn't as good as the first..but I still enjoyed it. I agree it was pretty emotional...I didn't cry but I was brought almost to the point. It was a very well done scene.
