Yeah, overall I think they did try to blur the real world political lines...which is why you saw this from a conservative view, and I a liberal view..when you think about it, it's genius.
3 of the things the fictional president in the film did that trump did or said he would do.
1. Disband the FBI
2. Label the media and the free press as enemy number 1.
3. Run for a 3rd term.

This wasn't set in 1966...it was set in present day, 98 or so... probably 96 because the mom references the birth of Billy in 66 as the reason why the bills haven't won anything since (for the last 30 years)... because of his birth, she missed the game. And that's why she hates Billy.

Yeah they said the same shit about Democrat candidate Gore and Republican candidate W. Bush. The difference is respectable candidates that are smart enough to know that we have the most respected election process of any civilized nations...and accepted the outcome.
I have to disagree...I thought her acting was spot on...she was a pretty big deal around this time so I remember how she portrayed herself in public...this role was nothing like herself. The girl can act.

The sexy dance number is in my opinion ALMOST a realistic portrayal of what would have happened in real life. Except in real life they probably would have been fucking like it was the end of the world.

My thoughts ...if it's a straight up musical with song after song...it's shit...1 musical number wouldn't be horrible... especially with an A list singer like Gaga. Also Gagas acting is actually pretty good in my opinion. If you didn't know who lady gaga was in A Star is Born, you would have thought she was this come out of nowhere actress who should be in more films.
