Agreed -- He already said Halloween was a conspiracy, he didn't believe in all this Sanderson Sister stuff, and it was all a bunch of hocus pocus; so lighting the candle, virgin or not, would not bring the witches back, he was just goofing around. I highly doubt he was aware he could be potentially alerting Alison to the fact he was a virgin by doing so!
