Thank you for your viewpoint. Though never swaying my opinion personally, a good observation from a different angle.
Agreed, Parasite Mansion was one of my least favorites. But even those that I just don't like are still not that bad. Some other least favorites are: Well of Doom, Hay-Fork and Bill-Hook, Flowers of Evil which most likely nobody agrees with me on. The series has something for everybody.
oh yes - who could forget 'The Storm'. Commentary is a hoot!

His roll play options were Millionaire Playboy, Sports Hero, Industrial Tycoon and Secret Agent.
Such a great movie and I like the updated version as well.

For Sure. Wouldn't have thought anyone could have worked their way in as successfully once Duchovny was gone but very surprised Robert Patrick snuggled himself into the part of the skeptic quite well. And Annabeth Gish's chemistry was excellent by his side.
The Lone Gunmen appearances were always a highlight for me. And it was too bad their series did not take off but I was impressed how well the writers covered their tracks and continued them in the X-Files for a bit longer.
Also another super character is the Alien Bounty Hunter. Such fun when ever he or his story suddenly shows up and Brian Thompson was certainly the perfect choice, such a believably strange intriguing man.
As we all do, I have my own scenarios of what should and shouldn't have happened at particular points, as well as high and low points on the characters - however never disappointed. Great series, I think a lot of Chris Carter.
Seeing it several more times, I also think Regali. But I'll never guess why Barbara recognized the FBI Cadet. Probably something Chris just threw in to put more questions in our minds.

p.s. after rereading and apologizing profusely for my blunder, I will replace my analogy of 'Dementia 13' with 1971 'Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' / 2005 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' instead. Both great films, the original again full of Charm etc. etc. and with the time frame difference the update was able to sensationalize the scenes with modern technology and extravagant dance numbers plus sticking closer to the original story which I thought was wonderful - so the question is was it actually better because of these things?
Another choice would be the many versions of 'Alice in Wonderland'. Same rules applying to date vs modern technology with some of the versions being quite extravagant and outlandish like in the newest 2010 film so when comparing would have a tendency to make the old Black & White 1933 version look a bit boring - but was it actually?
Yes, agreed the first movie had Charm, Color, Pizzazz and Arnold! But nice to see the story presented so completely different also. And I thought it really took some doing how a big part of the story's premise was changed around yet was still able to make sense as a whole - of the remakes I've seen I can't think of any other that's done this to that degree. Personally I thought the dark/grey hues and the new cast was a positive.
And to pick out a disappointing remake - first thought has to be 'Dementia 13'. I cannot find one good thing about the 2017 remake worth mentioning where the fabulous 1963 original is bursting with terror & excitement. It was also perfectly cast not to mention filmed in stunning Black & White which adds to the eeriness. However ... this is a subject for a different MovieChat page haha.
The bottom line here is it takes a lot of different folks to run a world, and if we all liked the same thing it would be a pretty boring place.
The second film was much more serious but I loved all the fun lines in the first one:

Have to agree they look similar in this dark world, but Melina kept her hair in a pony tail for the majority of the film which kept them separate. But towards the end when her hair was loose there was at least one shot that I had to think twice about who I was watching. Still - I think both gals were cast well.

Yes, I would like to know the punchline also! Casting is great and rapport outstanding between Sutherland & Allen.
I got the impression right from the start that David was one from the very beginning of the film. Just wanted to punch him in the nose haha.
