I just think the show reached the same point Young Sheldon is finding itself in in it's final season. Kids where now adults or reaching their late teens (Except for that baby, but no one cared about the baby) and it reached the point where the show could no longer be what it was. It started with crazy parents and young unruly children, it had a strong young kids vs parents dynamic to it and it is one of the things that made it a success. By the last season everybody had grown up so the show switched in story lines and adapted itself to fit it's now adult or near adult cast. Some people stayed around but others stopped watching as the show was not the same as when it started, therefore ratings dropped so they had to end it before loosing more viewers. Yes, I agree, the 2003 version with Jason Iisaacs is to me the only adaptation that really translate the themes of the book. Actually watching this one made me realize just how good the 2003 version was. YES! You took the word out of my mouth ! This is exactly my opinion of the film. Definitely overrated but the one thing strangely people seems to completely ignore is just how freaking good that kid was ! Really good ! Like the best child acting I saw in a long time yet people talks a lot about every aspects of the movie except of the only one that really impressed me most wish is how good that little kid was. I actually think he was the best actor in the all movie. I hope he gets more role, he has a bright future. Not only scene but I believe the Flash should have been the last DCU films to be released. It really would have made sense as the final scene of the Flash (Not the rubbish post credit one that made no sense) hinted that things changed due to Barry messing with the multiverse. It was a perfect explanation to introduce the new re-booted James Gunn DCU. Instead we had Aquaman 2 as the last film ... Makes no sense... It is like telling us all is changed at the end of the Flash then showing Aquaman as he always has been in the DCU. WB screwed up with that one. Haha I am with you ! Conan is epic ! I saw it when I was way too young too. When I think of Conan I automatically think of the beheading scene. As a little kid in the early 90's I so remember that the big three were always Schwarzenegger, Stallone and Van Dame. Boys at school always seemed to take sides on wish of the big three they like most. Personally me it was always Schwarzenegger. Kindergarden cop, Last Action Heroes, Twins, Total recall ... Honestly so many films of him that I just adored when I was a little kid. I cannot think of any Stallone or Van Dame movies that really drew me in like a Schwarzenegger film. With that said I love Stallone as well, do not get me wrong. It just I have way more nostalgia for Schwarzenegger work that's all. I think Schwarzenegger knew the right people that took advantage of all his range as an actor while the others where not given the opportunity to show as many sides of themselves but that is more due to the material they where given than their actual worth as actors. Hum you are the one who made the ""THAT CRAP DOESN'T BOTHER NORMAL PEOPLE" comments in capital letters. Wish is basically calling me not normal. I am the type who agree to disagree with difference of opinions and I like sharing difference of opinions but once people start throwing daggers and being rude for no reasons they loose me. With that said let's leave it at that. I acknowledge your opinion while putting aside your sarcastic comment made to put me down. I wish you good. Yeah, It pains me because I had high hopes for it. I wanted kids to have the same Tiny Toons as we did growing up. ""THAT CRAP DOESN'T BOTHER NORMAL PEOPLE"" Yeah whatever... Go easy on the capital letters there you might break the buttons or get a stroke or something. I corrected the Micelli spelling, English is not my first language. And also, no need to be rude with the "Normal people" statement . I started my post with "Personally" meaning my personal opinion. If you do not agree , you can find other ways to do so then to be insulting. I agree to disagree. I absolutely did not see her that way. She was very vulnerable after dealing a great loss in her life. She was far from a stereotype. I see what you mean but I am a guy and I liked it. It really is not a movie full of twists and turn but a gentle character study of three kids managing life in the mid 80's. I think the three leads are likeable and the 80's ness of it all make it fun to watch as well. I understand it is not everybody cup of tea but I like that film. YES !! Well in all fairness David Rose was always brilliant in everything he did. I considered him to be the John Williams of TV. His music felt like scores that should be in big budget films. As for what you said 12 years ago haha Yes his score for Father Murphy is particularly good and I love that, as he always did, he gave each character their own them music, I particularly was found of Mr Rodman theme. David Rose really is one of the reasons why they do not make shows like they used to, the guy elevated everything he worked on. I re-watched the show just recently and I can conform that season 2 is really inferior. I think the fact that season one ended with such closure, having Murphy covered being blown out and having him getting married to Mae and getting the right to keep all the children just did not leave anything exciting for a season two. Also Mr Rodman was a fun antagonist in season 1 because yes, he was nasty but he was a little silly too, a little campy, he was a bad guy that was fun to watch (He even had his own little theme music) and he was completely gone in season 2 and replaced by Richard Garret (In a very contrived plot of him being the twin brother of Paul Garret from the pilot) , however Richard Garret was not fun , he was just plain evil and that change of antagonist gave the show a heavier feeling. Actually in general, the 13 episodes of season 2 are for the most part darker, not as heart warming as the first season, it really felt like a different show, like a soft reboot when people where perfectly happy with the way the show already was. So yeah I think season 1 feels like a complete show and those extra 13 episodes of season 2 really do not fit. I completely agree. I love the original version because Gene Wilder performance added something subtle that was fun for adult to watch but my this one is just for babies. The over acting of the antagonists was unbearable, mustache twirling level of camp. Every time they had scenes I wanted to walk out. I cannot imagine myself ever watching this one again. I think toddlers would enjoy because they go for easy laughs in the humor but as an adult it was a hard watch, kept looking at my watch. On the plus side, I cannot fault Timothy Chamalet and the young girl who played along with him, they did their very best but to me it just felt like something you would find in the early morning on a TV channel for kids under 10. That must have been SO much work !!! I am impressed when fans do things as well as a studio ! Indeed ! For long time fans of the franchise the show is frustrating ! I was so excited with the involvement of Andy and Kyle but they did nothing of interest with those two beloved characters. The main three kids are actually getting quiet boring to watch, they lack substance and honestly the two boys have zero chemistry and I struggle believing they are even an item in the show, their love scenes are so cringe and awkward lol They both obviously straight trying their hardest to play gay. The show would be so much better if they concentrated on the legacy characters and give them significant things to do ! I want Andy and Kyle to feature more and to kick ass. True Yeah my opinion exactly. Started very interesting and turned into a WTF mess Well I was not surprised . Hollywood hates ginger people and it is now a given that if you have a real ginger character they will be replace with a black character with red dreadlock. Are you a girl with red hair looking for representation ? You are out of luck as the industry wants to eradicates all ginger characters from the face of the earth lol I'm just joking but really it is hilarious just how many red hair characters have been race swapped....
