It's a lot of money, but there are routinely drug busts where product/cash is taken worth tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. Even billions.
$3,000,000 being ripped off a supposedly major crime syndicate didn't seem to warrant the level of scrutiny they showed.
Because we only see Howard after he's run into serious trouble. It's clear he had to be doing very well up until then. He has a very nice apartment and a lucrative business. She's the type of chick that would crave that kind of situation with someone taking care of her.
She works in his store and lives with him, as opposed to paying more than half her check for rent in some shitty studio apartment and likely would have a much shittier job without him. That's why her desperation to keep him made sense.
She was definitely getting ready to cheat on him before he started knocking on the bathroom door. She kept screaming that they didn't do anything, but it was because he showed up and interrupted them. I thought it was pathetic that he took her back.
They are much better.
Especially if you are interested in the era of the Gold Rush and the frozen North. They are much better because they are based on London's own experiences during the time and not politically correct. Even though the novels are of course fantasy from the perspective of animals.
Hardly the 80th and they all suck.
It's sad that no studio would make this movie or White Fang with a script that actually followed the novel. All of the movies about Jack London's novels have sucked.

This review confirms my worst fears. About the CGI, adding token characters to check boxes and omitting non-PC characters. Jack London deserved better than Hollywood periodically wiping their asses with his compelling adult novels to make shitty kids movies.
Yes. As someone else said, Thornton is really the only likable character.

Yeah. Ellen Degeneres has contributed a lot to American culture. Sitting on her ass while all her guests praise her and talk about how she's the most awesome person ever. Then hand out gifts paid for by sponsors. She makes Trump seem humble by comparison.

Good catch. It just felt so phony and about getting praise from people like Ellen Degeneres and homosexuals in the industry. They didn't even get that it was totally going against what such people had been pushing for years: That being gay is a choice and you are born that way. Clearly, Willow was not born gay. She became gay because a vampire version of her (that was previously shown to be the mate of a male vampire) acted a bit gay.
