Logan's run I watched for the third time last night. Was thinking the exact same thing. Obviously the Jammers were turned off when Nixon called the Moon and spoke in real time. 😀 Not even close. Moonstruck for one. Or any movie with Laura Dern. I don't think so either. I don't think either player was based on anyone in real life. I just wanted to say Pat Rafter was destined to win Wimbledon that year and it was an all-time great final. Pat was on a roll that year and the year before and took out Sampras and Agassi and others in the majors. Nothing against Goren, it's a great underdog story, but he just had an amazing day serving on the then fast courts of Wimbledon before they slowed them down during Federers era to appease the boring baseline players and lengthen the points. 9 days out of 10, Rafter wins that match. Sad that he never got a title he was so suited for with his playstyle. Any other player I'd have been happy to see Goren defeat at the time. Pat was awesome. Like a shooting star for two years. Taking it to 9-7 in the 5th. So close! You're thinking of Match Point. Easy to confuse the two. I'll have to check out Muscle Shoals. I Just watched Hired Gun yesterday. Similar theme, but more heavy metal/rock focused. They kept the JFK files secret over 60 years now. Among others. We never went to the moon. When you break it down to the basic components you realize why. Also the lighting is a dead giveaway in the photos. 100s of reasons. Fake it til you make it. It's like a religion to some people. Cult. No critical thinking. It might have been possible to get to the moon, but not return. No way no how, even today. You need air, water, fuel, bathrooms, food, batteries batteries batteries, computers, and so on, redundant everything in case of failure. Space is unforgiving. So true. Great username! Loved that show. def better. Chinatown and Godfathers are leagues ahead of Jaws. Dryfuss sucked in this movie and I never liked him much, so I'm biased. At a minimum he was poorly cast IMO. I remember waiting in a long long line to get into Jaws as a kid. I think it was my first PG film even. It was great then, but it has aged poorly. I watched it a few weeks ago for shits and giggles and it hasn't held up. Even Shaw, who I thought was the best part of the movie, came off a bit cheesy in my adult retrospect vision. Him and Dryfuss drinking scene was total cringe. The Deep which was an offshoot of Jaws, holds up much better and is more re-watchable today, though I would not have thought that 40 years ago. Shaw is also in it. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid is way better. Jaws did kinda make a big splash and had some unique attributes then, but doesn't hold up over time...at least as rewatchable. I'll watch Chinatown all day. Never gets old. Star wars I saw twice the day it came out, but isn't as great as I remember. Yeah, at the time it was amazing. For kids. I tried watching Return of the Jedi recently and couldn't sit through more than 30 min of it. STOWE is a 10 on both counts. Though her better work is in 12 Monkeys and other movies. English patient was better. agree. and seems the story would have been better served if both were older. Plus Raphe's character was 31 and already in a position of power and ended himself, while romantic for the movies's sake would have been more believable if he was at least mid 40s. Pretty good. Just watched recently for the 2nd time since release. 7.5 easily. Well I agree. I saw it in the 80s and don't remember much of it. I remember the line my friends used to quote about "washing your dick". I just watched it again and boy...it was bad. Not funny. Not remotely realistic (yeah even for a comedy). I actually mixed up some memories with 10, which was probably funnier, but also not that great from what I remember. Dudley isn't very funny and fake drunk is lame. 2/10 Thanks. I lived a few blocks from there, but had no idea the movie was shot there until a few years ago. I recognized St.Martins station and Chestnut Hill Academy and Cricket club and just assumed the house was in that vicinity. Turns out I drove by and biked past this house often when I lived there. Wyndmoor PA and Chestnut Hill adjacent. Beautiful neighborhoods. Will Farrell would have been an improvement over this POS. You beat me. I made it to these comments about Karaoke. After the awful greenscreens (if you can even call it that). More like a middle school stage play backdrop. Terrible movie. Hawke's adaptation of Tesla was questionable too. Always a look of fear on his face. I'd have rather just watched a documentary. The effects were pitiful. And not once, but twice narrator "gotchas". (Oh wait, that never happened). Amateurish.
