You should check out the Ghostbusters subreddit. To save you the trip, Bill Murray has reportedly been spotted on set with Paul Rudd. And if they've got Bill on board, then expect Dan and Ernie to come back as well.
We can't change what was, but we can still look ahead and hope for the best.
It's still possible for him to be in the movie.

I'm pulling for Janine. Annie Potts herself hopes that her character and Egon got together.
I'm not sure how to explain it, but I think this movie will have an overarching theme of family. Egon's daughter and grandkids, the original team, newcomers. They'll all come together.
The title is growing on me. The year will probably have some significance to the story. If they call the film "Ghostbusters 3", then they run the risk of alienating potential new fans who haven't seen the first two movies from the 80s.
I don't know much about stoner comedies, but I've enjoyed Paul Rudd in every role I've seen him in and the guy has range. He can do earnest mentor ("Perks of Being a Wallflower"), sarcastic straight man ("Clueless"), endearingly awkward boyfriend ("Friends"), and superhero/stay-at-home dad ("Ant Man" + "Ant Man and The Wasp").
Agreed. Or maybe Baby Oscar from Ghostbusters 2 all grown-up.
Yeah, I think even the Duffers admitted that Murray doesn't get out much.
For what it's worth, I like the show. I'm excited for Season 2 to finally come out this month.
