> idk, if scrutinized the story seem far fetched.... but then again, it should not be scrutinized. It is a fast paced superficial space adventure Well, there were a lot of things in the movie that just didn't make sense. I mean, if a Converter can poop out hundreds of copies of whatever you feed it, they'd have an unlimited supply of anything they want, especially those pearls. There's no need to harvest more pearls -- just make more. And what was up with that virtual marketplace? Was it actually there or not? Were the people shopping and selling really there? I can't think of any rational reason why a marketplace would be invisible like that, especially since everyone knows that it is there. And, probably hundreds of other strangely illogical stuff. "However, it also has almost no story and no character background, with generally really shallow characters and overlong pointless sequences (just like in Fifth Element) the action sequences just go on and on." It sort of had too many stories. It felt like it was a whole bunch of separate action scenes sewn together for no particular reason. As for the endless action scenes, I think that's just what kids like these days -- almost every action movie had endless chase and fight scenes enhanced by CGI that is constantly in motion. It seems that there are literally a thousand things moving on the screen at any given time. People can look young in roles for young people. In this movie he was a Major and was tasked to be in charge of security for the Commander of the whole station. That's something that a senior officer would do, not a kid just out of high school. I pretty much wanted Nik dead the instant I first saw him. He's a jerk. Well, that's the thing. He was an insecure psychopath. He messed with them just for the thrills. He tried to meet up with Candy Cane because he thought it might be a freebie, but he knew that it was probably too good to be true. The biggest implausibility is that the trucker always seems to be one step ahead of them at every stage an watching them rather intimately all the time. He knows that they are brothers, even though they've never mentioned it. He knows the name and whereabouts of the roommate of the crush of one of the main drivers at a college halfway across the country. He knows exactly where the girl is hiding in a massive corn field. He knows everything. He is an omniscient being. You can't beat that. C'mon. He would be super cautious with a "woman" that broadcast her hotel room number on the CB. Besides, if he's inexperienced with a woman, that's because it was his choice. Truckers can pay for as many women as they want at truck stops all over the country. I think in this case he will shut down the government. The Republicans do that every few years and nothing bad ever comes of it. Keep in mind that when the government shuts down, all of the "important" agencies keep going, like Social Security, the military, Congress, the White House, Air-Traffic Controllers, the FBI, CIA, the Mint, and so on. Only the things that people actually like about the government get shut down, such as National Parks, the Museums, Science labs, NASA, and similar. He will shut it down by not signing the spending bill. No one but the media will care very much until a few weeks pass and the shutdown starts to affect the average person. They can't visit the Washington Monument or Mount Rushmore and the TSA can't hire more agents to alleviate crowding at the airport and phones stop working because the satellites are falling from the sky. Then, they will call up their Congressmen and they will begin to oppose Trump openly. Trump will cave in, he will declare it to be a victory, and life will go on. View all replies >
