Definitely worth owning, I do and enjoy it every few years. Never was familiar with the actress Traylor Howard, however I enjoyed her performances in "Monk" and researched her a saw she was in MMaI, so will watch it again. She was super in "Monk" and plays Layla.
I agree great line and comedy, one of my favourite films.
She had been trained as a seductress, to be detached from her emotions to extract information from men of foreign governments by sexual acts with them. She performed what she was taught on her uncle. He reciprocated. When he did so she stopped proceeding. I felt she did this to show him how well she learned her lessons, and also by him reciprocating he exposed himself as a nasty fellow/creep.
To get a better understanding I would suggest reading the scene in the book.
This is only my take on the scene, I did not give it much thought, other than what I surmised above.
That he was a creep.
The meat would last a few days. She stated that you could not live without food for 3 weeks, water for 3 days and air for 3 minutes. Since you can climb Mt. Everest in approx. 5 days , I'm guessing after watching that disaster movie, they should be able to descend the mountain in 3 days. They can burn fat for energy and eat snow for water.
They were motivated to keep going because of the alternative, if they didn't keep going they would have died of exposure.
What a mountain lion was doing at that altitude is beyond me, there are no prey animals there, a bit of a stretch.
The dog would live off it's fat stores also and 5 days without food would not be a problem. He acted his part well and was enjoying the outing.
Well said CCRider01, same here in Canada. Liberals can't get them in quick enough.
