There is deep-seeded reason for her over-compensating self-righteousness. I won't speculate, but her behavior is typical when people externalize their grief by projecting it onto other groups of people, whether they be an ethnic one, a political party, or a nation. It's not just with Whitewingers like her, but also Leftists who gravitate towards cults of personalities.

I have a similar memory of a TV movie/series from the 80s, and I could have sworn that it starred Peter Strauss as an American military agent from the 80s who is somehow sent back in time to Nazi or Soviet dominated Europe.
Is the music being played contemporary 90s rock or is it a period movie that takes place in the 60s but came out in the 90s?
You mentioned the Plimsouls, and their music and look was often compared to 60s Brit rock and L.A. garage rock from that decade.
