More funny is the fact that a former President is hawking golden sneakers at Sneaker Con. covfefe You have a cold, hard pile of horse manure, which is hardly surprising, considering its been sitting out for more than 4 years. Well then, lucky for all of us that Nancy didn't encourage an army of inbred morons to march to the Capitol on vote certification day and violently attempt to stop said certification, isn't it? If Nancy had done that, and continued to pursue court cases for years, and lose all of them, maybe more people would remember. The only reason there was a special election is because your guy was an unbelievable corrupt fuck. Your side has been losing elections consistently since 2020 because a lot of your candidates are Trumpist shit. For that to be a crime it had to actually happen. Countless court cases have established that it didn't. From the planet Bluebloodia. I would love to have heard what Terry Jones would have made of that tune with a mallet and some mice's tails. His cover of "The Bells of St.May's" was a real banger. How shall I fuck off, O Lord? Naw, there won't be. Besides Hinkle is a clown. I have a homosexual uncle who is also a hardline conservative Christian and Trump supporter. Many members of the SA in Nazi Germany were homosexual. If that's the case, then Putin needs to ban the music of Tchaikovsky, who was as queer as a three dollar bill, and quite possibly a pedophile. One thing I'm certain of is that John Williams WON'T win. He is to the Oscars what Susan Lucci is to the Daytime Emmys.... a perpetually nominated loser (since 1993, anyway). I think a Lifetime Achievement Award will be his, at some point (or did he already get one?). I am certain Robbertson or Goransson will win because Hollywood seems to have a la-di-da attitude towards more traditional Classical-based scores in more recent years (circa the late 70s). More recent proof of this was that NONE of his Star Wars prequel scores were nominated between 1999 and 2005...none of them. I suppose the assumption was that since they were prequel/sequels it would just be "more of the same". I almost think he was nominated for all three Star Wars sequel film scores, despite their less inspired content, out of embarrassment for the prequel snubs. He still lost, of course. LOL. Williams only seems to win when NOT giving it to him would be too outrageous. Williams has frequently been nominated for multiple films in certain years, so split voting has probably cut down on his Oscar total as well. Still, his Superman loss to Giorgio Moroder's Midnight Express seems hard to fathom, looking back. I do think Vangelis beating out Williams for Raiders was not so unreasonable, because it was also a great and iconic score... all of it, not just the theme. I'm not saying he should have won e every time, but he SHOULD have much more than five Golden Boys on his shelf. John Barry won the same number, despite only have a fraction of the nominations. No disrespect intended to Barry, but you gotta wonder what the deal is. Having said that, Williams' Dial of Destiny score isn't up to his Superman or Raiders standards either. The Helena Theme was nice, but the only thing that really stood out... and more impressive in its guise as a concert piece for violin and orchestra, especially when played by Anna-Sophie Mutter. Probably not enough to win this time, methinks. Hollywood might also be annoyed that he seems more preoccupied these days trying to secure some sort of foothold in the Classical pantheon in Vienna and Berlin than winning golden statues. Indeed, I suspect Helena's Theme is more a concert piece that got shoehorned into a movie than vice versa. Dial being a sequel (and a flop, to boot) are the final nails in the Oscar coffin. He wrote the Helena Theme for sure, and many of the sub-themes are derived from it. What I think was somewhat lacking was a distinctive theme for the Dial or one for Voller. We got a Nazi Germany theme but not a Voller theme, or at least not one that wasn't as memorable as past villain themes. John Barry has won the same number of Oscars (five) with only a fraction of the nominations. It would be nice if Williams could get at least one more than Barry, but the Academy seems to value off-beat scores over more traditional ones. Midnight Express and Chariots of Fire beating Superman and Raiders of the Lost Ark respectively are examples of this. Robbie Robertson will win posthumously, mark my words. I think the sequel scores got nominated mainly to make amends for the shocking and embarrassing lack of nominations for ANY of the prequel films. Also, the final image of the film (Alex engaging in a sexual act while elites in aristocratic clothing look on applauding) gives us a clue both to Alex's fate and the ultimate point of the film. Contrary to the joyously triumphant tone (shown from his perspective) of the final scene in the hospital, Alex in tact has been crushed and defeated by the state, and will be absorbed into just as his Droog mates were. From now on, he will be a servant of the state, never again to have the total freedom he once had before going to prison. We also know this will happen because Georgie and Dim's police uniforms have the numbers 665 and 667. Since Alex always walked between them, his number would be 666. This tells us he will also "wear the uniform of the state" in one sense or another, and also he is a bad person, too, and only a hero in his own imagination. It's not that he's a hero, but that the state is even worse. No, you're all wrong! The Alien was actually doing a Jolson routine: "Mammy!" Probably, but he will have to resign himself to it being streaming only, most likely. Normie Answer: "Because there was no credible, actionable evidence of wide spread voter fraud." Trumpist Answer: "Deep State, man. Deep fuckin' State!" It never ceases to amaze me how many tropes and talking ponts the MAGA Right have borrowed from 60s Radical Left - with a few Right-wing and/or Dundamentalist tweaks, of course. It's no coincidence that some of Trump's most die-hard supporters are 60s Era Boomers. It's almost as if they're reliving their youth, just swapping left for right. They lurched too far left in their youth and are now lurching too far right in their old age. " Nothing is real, And nothing to get hung about" Nothing is real, so don't get a hang up about anything. Supposedly, the song is based on psychotherapy Lennon underwent working out some issues from childhood, hence the reference to "hang ups". What an intelligent comment, asshole.
