What Simpson episodes were not good?? I think you are confused they must have been bad era Simpson. Classic era will always be this great funny show, always because it is too well written

Thanks but I think I have found it, it is called, It the terror from beyond Space. It is very similar, but all film with an alien type guy chasing people in small confined spaces will be similar.
They say they have many influence but I'm sure this will be a main one.
I much prefer The Martian but yes can see how they are similar. I think in this movie it is similar to Prometheus where these characters do not feel like space people, like space explorer guys, so it feels wrong from the start.
And the ending feel like they throw in some 2001 type mystery. Strange film.
