I hope you do. A lot of his movies are on YouTube for free. This one is my favorite.

He's been....... thunderstruck
ha - spanning time.. "Do you think my dad believed that shit? 'He works for the CIA! The President loves him! Do you think my father believed that shit for one second? I told you, 'Be Nice!'"
Do you like John Cassavetes?
Thanks. I try to avoid overemphasizing things everyone knows/likes.
I agree with him.. Besides "Buffalo '66" being one of a few American movies I love in my lifetime, Vincent Gallo is a great interview.. Unfortunately, there's less than a handful on YouTube.
I was reading a biography, and a producer says he found a guy.. When the head of the studio saw a profile, he said, "I could throw a rock and find 9 other Redfords" but yeah, he's pretty bland.
I'd throw in Warren Beatty. On "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" (best movie I think he was in), he hated the improvisation style Altman liked to work with. I guess his naivete works in that movie, though.
So many people have seen Mann's movie with Pacino and De Niro (Heat) but skip over Mann's first, the much better, "Thief" with James Caan
Interesting, because Godard was a critic... I wonder how many do actually make movies for the critics.
Ingmar Bergman on Jean-Luc Godard:
“I’ve never gotten anything out of his movies. They have felt constructed, faux intellectual, and completely dead. Cinematographically uninteresting and infinitely boring. Godard is a fucking bore. He’s made his films for the critics. One of the movies,Masculin, Féminin, was shot here in Sweden. It was mind-numbingly boring.”
I think nowadays, it's going to be whatever goes viral. I have no interest in seeing "Oppenheimer", but the only thing people say about it (besides it being long and boring) is some "random sex scene" which seems calculated.
Francois Truffaut on Michelangelo Antonioni:
“Antonioni is the only important director I have nothing good to say about. He bores me; he’s so solemn and humorless.”
Maybe the producer thought they'd get x more amount of sales if he was in it.
