People need to QUIT attacking people for their opinion. She has every right to post on this. I think some shows DO put in gratuitous sex just to keep our interest and it feels manipulative. I don't mind scenes that further the show, like showing the detective and his sexual needs, but I sometimes dislike graphic scenes. My choice.. I weigh the show on ALL it's merits. I am enjoying The Sinner. I don't like mean spirited, critical replies to honest posts. Disagreement is fine, but why go to name calling or excessive criticism?? This is supposed to be a discussion forum.
I don't think so. Different times, occasions, make up's, tired/not tired, etc. can make one look different. Look at your own photos and you may agree. Plus, she has flawless skin, great bone structure and a lot depends on lighting, etc. Don't be so quick to think plastic surgery. Some photography of her has differences, just an angle or lighting etc. She looks appropriate for those blessed with her genes !!
The play was broadcast to movie theaters around the world. I got to see it that way in my home town. It was fantastic. I heard some sell that broadcast, ok'd by the country it was shown in. No real way of knowing. I'm just glad I didn't miss it.
Ok, I guess I had higher expectations, but I still am glad I watched it. It was hard to forgive Chris's character for bringing Jennifer's character out of hibernation, thus having her stuck on the ship till she died. Seems a big character flaw ! lol
I hate to disagree, glad u enjoyed it, but I'd only give it a C. No chemistry with the actors, little happening, dialogue was not good and over all very low energy. I love the two stars, but this movie was way lacking.

lord, stop flexing your muscles, in print no less. Songwriter, you started a fight by being abusive, even taunting Outsider to consider "ending it all". What kind of person does that?? I guess a message board is "safe" to say such things, but wrong. Now you both are fighting in print. I'm guessing Songwriter has issues, just ignore him now that he's shown he can't discuss with civility.

Boys, Boys, take it outside or to another spot. I enjoyed Krl97a's ideas, disagreed with some and made a reply. I didn't get into a pissing contest on a written forum. It's not easy to make your point this way, it's a message board. Both of you are trying to turn this into a political fight and it seems neither one of you is going to change their mind. OK, you have every right, just take a breath and try and agree on something, otherwise your in a loop. IMHO

Interesting. I was remembering when Wednesday was talking about how the gods disappeared when Not worshiped or enough. I suppose they could be replaced, but I was still talking of actions that humans take on their own, without a gods stance or following a god. I still think that's viable idea without a human having a god to follow. Gaiman is complex. I will watch season 2, as I think Season one mostly a "set up" for the next installment. Like an entire season of cliff hangers. And Starz might have been being careful about committing to a season 2 unless season one had ratings. I am committed enough to watch 2 and get more answers or depth.
I disagree with such a blanked statement as "any woman has". Not saying GA hasn't had non invasive stuff done, but no major, IMHO. You are so right about trolls, I should have known. sigh. To me, I enjoy talking about positive aspects of actors, celebs, movies, entertainment. The aspects of movie making, plots, things I don't "get" and other posts can help with. I am older, not interested in blasting a celeb on appearance, (usually) but only asshats get off on it. When I do get favorite actors, an GA is one, it's because their talent has impressed me, and if their personal life is good, that counts too. It's hard to put up with haters, some are obviously unhappy with themselves and some are young or just immature. Of course all actors age, we all do. Yes, I don't want this site to go away, this type of troll or negativity that those posters did, helped ruin IMDB. As usual, some negative people ruin it for those at least trying to be fair. And I'm not talking about a little snarky talk, just the type I was referring to.Thanks for listening. ta

I suspect that Starz is making the show a "teaser" for second season. If it succeeds, they might go for season two. The show "penny dreadful" was stopped, with a rushed ending cause of low ratings. Maybe cable is testing this, too. I think all the confusion is going to be fleshed out in season two. A lot of groundwork is being laid now, and unknowns in it, but I think season two will be more forth coming. After all, season one was ONLY 8 episodes. I'm willing to stick with it, it's a different type show.
Most nudity, by the vast majority, has been female nudity. Male nudity, esp showing penises, has been low in comparison. Your statement : "massive double standard" is incorrect. Not trying to be rude, it's just not true. I am of babyboomer age and have seen the development (or lack of) of how much nudity is shown for a while. Women actors have complained on the real double standard of the women showing their bodies, while the men had their privates hidden or rarely part of the scene. Not sure if your male or female, which might be part of your take on this subject. I admit, it was a shock to see the jen quite so personally.
What a load of mean crap. You have no proof she has had that kind of plastic surgeries, she just lost weight and looks great. She is an excellent actor who has abandoned the Hollywood circus to live in London, and that has cost her a lot of acting gigs. But, those who work with her like to use her again or admire her work. The prestigious awards shes been nominated for and one's she's won, attest to that. I AM an admirer of her work, but not a fanatic. I do know a bit about what constitutes acting and agree with critics that Ms A is a very very good actress who has been overlooked to many times for major movie roles or meatier roles because she does not stay in Hollywood or play that game, which can be vicious. When I reacted to your post, it was because I feel it would be wrong to let such a biased, one sided, wrong and mean spirited post stand. I'd do this for any actor I favored, and I do like many because of their talent AND who they are as persons. Ms A does tons of charity work (can u name one??) and is a learned, self aware person who has worked to be whole person. I derived this by following her and her work, statements and pertinent info written by others. I'm not ashamed I like to follow actors and see their work, maybe you do, too. Not wrong.Certainly better than ONLY commenting on the negatives of a show, not showing a level review. But you seem obsessed on being overly critical and negative, one of the things that ruined the IMDB forums - too many juvenile (literally), gossipy, mean spirited gossip mongers and not enough thought on the finer aspects of media and those in it. One snarky (esp on looks), over the top comment after another, with no real understanding of the big picture. I'm not clueless on acting, I have actors in my family and been observing acting a lot longer than you, a lot. Yes, I too like RW, wouldn't be harsh to her if she did a bad job, cause it's more than just actors work in a performance. Ta
If ALL actions were caused by gods, which they are not, then they'd fall under those categories. A lot of humans did Not believe in gods or God and follow their own path, good, bad or random. IMHO
Sounds juvenile. Hope these forums don't go the way of IMDB, having to put up with haters, political nonsense, shaming, 12 year olds venting etc. Let's talk media, not playground stuff.
