Anybody knows what the difference (in minutes) between the R-rated version and the "so-called" cut version is? The version I've seen was 140 minutes and was marked as -unrated-... I enjoyed this film to some degree and would probably buy it on blu ray, if I only knew the difference between the two versions... Well, if someone knows, let me -let us know!! :) Dane DeHaan is a far superior actor than DiCaprio... Poor Leo had to change his appearance (in his late twenties) to make him look more masculine...less twinky. Wow, take a walk on the wild side!! I wonder if DiCaprio would have done a sex scene with say...Tobey Maguire? Don't think so... Yet, DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe sure did in "Kill your Darlings" thinking of their art first NOT their so-called public image. You think DeHaan studied DiCaprio's tics, mannerisms and dialogue delivery? What is there to study? In my opinion "The Aviator" was one of the funniest movies ever made or should I call it the longest SNL skit in history... I absolutely agree with what you said, Excidium, the cinematography/lighting...the overall atmosphere of the film was very interesting. I, too, was expecting something along the lines of the magnificent "The Ring". Unfortunately I found the last twenty minutes to be (a little over-the-top)... The underground scenes looked a bit too "Pinewood" for my taste and why have Jason-Isaacs AGAIN as a villain?? I would have settled for a 'Ring' ending...more eerie and unsettling, alas... Yet, I must note that Dane DeHaan was perfect for the role thus making the final scene quite spectacular!! All in all a pretty decent movie. View all replies >
