(No intentional SPOILERS but I could screw things up...) I saw the movie earlier today in Imax 3D and found it to be very entertaining, maybe my 2nd favorite post-"Endgame" MCU movie behind "Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings". It covered all the bases of being fun, funny, actiony, dramatic, sad, etc., and it did it well while looking great. The movie has some fun things going on but is also a bit heavy and tragic at times. Nick Fury has a bit to do and wasn't a total waste in the film. Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is a more believable teenager than Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and is entertaining as a young super hero. They use Kamala's family quite a bit in the movie and don't really explain her power set all that well, so you might want to check out the very good and fun "Ms. Marvel" Disney+ series if you haven't watched it yet. Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has some cool scenes and one super OP scene. The movie becomes a Bollywood style musical for a few minutes and it is somehow awesome. The antagonist Dar-Benn had a bit of depth. Probably the weakest character for me was Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau and she wasn't bad or anything, but it is another case of her power set being not particularly well defined. There were a couple of cute and silly scenes and they worked and made me laugh. There's one quick scene right before the credits begin that hopefully sets up some fun and entertaining future projects, and a mid credits scene that plays into the upcoming big franchise wide crossover event(s). I had a good time and might go see it again at the theater. The article doesn't suggest that the movie will fail, instead it states "...The MCU is far from its 2010s golden age, but The Marvels will most likely be one of the highest grossing films of the year after it hits theaters on November 10..." without any suggestion that early reviews or RT scores will tank it. "The Marvels" starts its wide release today so you'll get a better selection of reviews, and it's already up to 61%+ at RT. I'm seeing the movie today at 3PM local time in Imax 3D. I watched Demeter this weekend. It was ok but the script was a mess and the movie wasn't particulary scary. Direction and acting was good enough, I suppose. Were they trying to set up Dracula as Jack the Ripper at the end? Jack the Ripper was active around 1888 and this movie was set in 1897 (9 years later). It reminds me of this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-9J2P4XZUo I haven't seen "Troll Hunter" but "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" was pretty good. Admittedly, I have not watched it. That quote does not state that she is dead. Wow, I didn't realize that this was a documentary instead of a Z-level work of entertainment. I am, the previews look fun. I liked the first Captain Marvel movie well enough and the Ms. Marvel Disney series was far more entertaining than I expected. Monica Rambeau was ok in WandaVision and will hopefully have a chance to shine in this movie. I was so let down by Punisher Season One that I've never bothered watching Season 2. I haven't seen the movie but we did that a couple of times with vodka when I was late teens / early 20s. Vodka doesn't have a very strong smell so maybe that's why Hoffa didn't notice if that's what they used in the movie. Maybe they could have worked the plot so that John Connor grew up and had a kid and then the Terminator shows up and kills him. Then Sarah could spend the rest of the movie protecting the new leader of the future resistance, John Connor Junior. I'm 55 and have never seen the film. My best friend was talking it up a decade ago and I bought the DVD, but I don't think that I've taken the plastic wrap off of it. Maybe one day... Bryce Dallas Howard, Sofia Boutella, AND a cat?? I'm in. Well, she never got indicted for anything, unlike Mister "Lock Her Up". She is a good Representative of the trash that makes up the Republican party. The first 7 1/2 minutes of TED2 is a stripped down retelling of the first movie, it's all new after that. This movie had many most annoying parts. Looks pretty cool, I'll be there! They may have played the previous week's episode on Friday and then a new episode on Saturday, been too long to remember. I haven't watched them all, but several years ago I downloaded a torrent with all the episodes in pretty mediocre VHS rip quality.
