I think they said the reason bees kill the queen is not because she herself did anything wrong, but because her offspring were defective. That was the theory anyway. Even if Prime is down... it still seems Amazon will make less money this way. I would have paid for a movie ticket, but since I already have Prime they get no incremental money from me. I find it hard to believe that someone would get a $15 membership - and keep it - just for this one movie. Plus they could have moved it to prime after an initial theater run and gotten the best of both worlds. That statement was very carefully crafted. He never said the Academy was wrong, he never even said they should have been nominated. He only expressed his disappointment. So this is not really a criticism just an expression of his own feelings. Misleading headline as usual. Even if not replicating riches imagine what magic tricks you could do with 10 EXACT copies of yourself. Restricting himself to the Teleporting Man was a serious lack of imagination. Plus unnecessary killing. Got to disagree with you there. Though Chappelle can be silly and never went to college - everybody else in his family did. His parents were a teacher/writer. Watch his interviews and some of his mid-career material or his SNL monologue, he can get very philosophical. Nevertheless, he is just cashing checks at this point. Prey was good still trying to decide if it is second or third best. However the whole reason it was good is because it was unique. This is the same reason I liked Predators - both had completely new set ups. This will only work with a completely different premise, not rehashing the same one again. Not sure if it is my imagination, but when the billionaire mentioned it was an extra $150k for clean up, the Killer seemed visibly shocked. My interpretation is that he was taken aback by how little his life was worth to Hodges. So I'd guess the fee is minimum $300k for a straightforward 3 day job. The whole point of the movie was that he was breaking his rules. I thought that was one part of the bear story. Taking things personally and not being dispassionate. Judging by the footprints and cigarettes they were casing his house for quite a long time.... so how did they not know he was not home????? You are right, and the correct and most realistic ending would have been for him to die in the end. But that doesn't sell movies. I was SHOCKED that he settled back in the same house. A guy as careful as him I would have thought would have relocated somewhere else. Looked pacific islander to me. He had an ambush ready... why did he not just shoot? I think he assumed it was an untrained burglar. Also he was already limping going into the casino earlier... perhaps from the fight with the girl? I don't think he was incompetent. I think (maybe subconsciously) he was self sabotaging himself on purpose. Maybe boredom as he warned. Like the story said... he could have quit long ago. Perhaps addicted to the thrill. Agreed... maybe subconsciously he was taking unnecessary risks trying to make the job more exciting. He said if you are averse to boredom this is not the job for you. In these types of situations the staffer (Hodges) always makes more than the grunt. They take the financial risk and make the sale-- its the way of the world. So because he is not hired directly he is taking 50% home at best. This keeps bothering me... he did not miss, someone stepped in front of the shot but the shot was true. That would be my story and I would stick to it! A living target is more motivated and has a better chance at providing law enforcement with some sense who the client might be and by extension revealing the contractors. So after a miss there is more reason to clean up loose ends. When you fail to kill an assassin nobody cares because in this case the victim is unlikely to get the authorities involved. However the play would have been another try at eliminating the target (but I guess the window had closed), if he was a productive assassin, makes no sense to eliminate him. Also very sloppy - and in this case costly - to get the woman involved. After their extensive stakeout the didn't even know he wasn't home?? Refresh my memory... but I believe by that point the Predator had already suffered some major damage including being maimed. Wasn't its forearm sliced off? Probably some major blood loss and was barely conscious. It was also less experienced, smaller and had inferior tech compared to Arnold's predator which was in pretty much pristine shape before the final fight. According to the lore the Predators evolve and become better hunters every season, so this is a few hundred years of a difference. Just offering an explanation... but I agree that trained soldiers at the end of the 20th century cannot be compared to an Indian tribe in terms of weapons and tactics. Of course some blacks come off as idiots as well... clearly. He executive produced the Transformers films... let's not let him off the hook for that. If he was a true fan as he claims, he clearly sold out for the money on that one. But at some point you just have to throw your hands up and take the cash. Give the people what they want. He is probably disgusted at the state of action adventure and sci-fi of today and has tapped out.
