Damn, good find, but unfortunately no, this one just follows the same couple through the whole movie I believe. Part of me was thinking it was Justin Long, but I didn't see anything like that in his filmography, someone like him though. Gahhh, haha.
Ha, wow, Bruce and Basinger?! Dunno how I've never heard of that one, but no, it was definitely later, I'm thinking mid-2000s if I had to guess, and the blind date/being drunk thing is just their introduction, not the plot of the movie. Thanks tho!
Yeah, they're slasher spoofs, and yes, very low-budget/not great, very silly humor and badly acted. I'm in the middle of "Part V" as we speak. Worth a watch if you're a die-hard horror fan (some of the characters are kinda amusing and some of the practical effects aren't bad), but definitely not good.
I'm sure it's too late by now, but they were just both uploaded to Shudder, and I naturally watched "the original" first. Now I just started "Part V" and even in the opening titles, it's made clear that this one was indeed first, despite the title, then they retroactively made "the original" as a further joke.
It was real, the other girl references it in the locker room and tries to kiss her again.
Yeah, I liked how they melded it right into the original. It was supposed to be the mother as the jackal, but I guess for one reason or another they buried the "father" in the grave of the "mother" *shrug*
Guy is my favorite actor, and yeah, as much as I tried to stay positive here, I had to give up, this was brutal. Just read an interview where he trash talks it a ton, calls it "abysmal."

Yes, this is actually a very common thing. It makes me nauseous when eating with people who do it. A local breakfast spot has a breakfast sandwich with eggs, hashbrowns, and ketchup. Gross.
