Doesn't look like the economy isn't turning a corner anytime soon. inflation rate is *still* above historic averages, and interest rates are the highest they have been in very long time. Add to that, I don't see Biden making up any ground during the debates. Probably best he refuse to do them altogether.
I think you should get used to the item of a second Trump term. The real race will be in 2028, and as I mentioned earlier, Gavin Newsome is not a viable candidate. The dems need someone else to step up. That is in addition to massive changes in their platform.
Well, Trump is showing no signs of dementia yet, so even if it does get him, he won't start showing signs until late into his second term (a foregone conclusion at this point). The question is, who on the Dem bench will be able to carry the torch in 2024? Certainly not Gavin Newsome. I see no stars on the horizon for them, while the Republicans have DeSantis, Noem, Lake, and my favorite, Vivek. Even a low-key, but popular governor like Greg Abbott could probably make a respectable run.
