You just paraphrased the review that's on Roger Ebert's site. Congratulations on not having your own thoughts and opinions!
To quote him "We are all victims of circumstance in this life. When we understand that, we don't blame each other." This is him letting himself off the hook, forgiving himself. Despicable.
He refused to work and imprisoned his kids. He's not the victim, he's the perpetrator. And it's clear the boys DO blame him, and they should.
Exactly, he's sick and abusive and alcoholic. The mother is to blame too for allowing it to happen.
Yes and one of them mentions learning that "Google" is a new word. But they can film and edit their own movies.
I think some of it is fake, or information that compromises the story has been left out.
Why would a father so paranoid let someone in the house with a camera? Was he paid?
If they are so broke, Dad refuses to work, Mom is not allowed to leave the house (and you don't get paid to homeschool), how do they have all those TVs, DVDs, matching suits as others have said, wigs for their reenactments of movies, all those Halloween decorations and costumes, video cameras, rollerblades etc etc etc. Who got them all that stuff? Dad? Dad is the only one who went outside, but doesn't that seem out of character?
