She was thinking of the people who died to get her to where she is today and put it all on herself, like survivor's guilt because she is immune and can help find the cure. Maybe if she knew sooner, she could have found a cure sooner and kept them from dying. At the end, she is still in the same place because they didn't succeed and she knows more people died. This is when she tells Joel what happened to Riley and how she blames herself. She doesn't know her purpose anymore and Joel tells her it is possible to find a new purpose.
Mainly for Joel to find the letter at the end. His relationship with Ellie is purely transactional up to that point. Bill is trying to tell him it's not worth it to live like that without someone to care for. Plus it's a place where they can plausibly load up on supplies.

This show is racist against goats. They aren't seen as real people, literally just food for the dragons.
The language is formalized, I doubt they have plans to dumb it down but it might help to turn on the captions.

There are some hints they will talk about some of the stuff that happened during the time jumps, but most of this show is gonna take place when the kids of Rhanerya and Alicent are grown.
They are gonna do 2-5 seasons with the last season possibly going back to Aegon's conquest.
The intro has even been updated a couple times since episode 1 to reflect events in the show.
The reason for the incest is because they believe they need to keep Targaryen blood to be able to control the dragons and maintain their source of power. Without the dragons they are actually quite weak and easy to overthrow.
