It's a weird things because her face "is" attractive conventionally speaking, but everything, while symmetrical, is somehow in the wrong place. If that makes sense. Amber Heard has the same quality, where you can't exactly say where it goes wrong but she has a beady rat eyed quality. I think it's the stuck up attitude most likely, if she was humble/played the down to earth "friend" role we'd look at her differently.

She's the worst. But I also think Sally Field is really annoying and shrill so she seems even more vindictive than reasonable. Someone with a lighter touch would have smoothed over the script issues but she seems outright villainous.
She ruined her son's birthday and the climactic scene only happens because she wants to make a big spectacle on her own birthday, and insists on dragging Doubtfire along even though that was the one night she was "busy." So no, I don't feel sorry for her.

It is not. It's overly long and pretentious, and even worse than that so very portentous. I would even argue that if anyone other than Nolan had done it, making it in under two hours with zero bombast/"trailer" FX shots would be even more of a challenge. He is so egotistical even his movies cannot escape his smug self satisfaction anymore.
