There's a really great documentary on how films are rated and why (and the issues with it, in regards to consistency and otherwise) called "This Film is Not Yet Rated." But, the basic rules (there are exceptions of course) are a brief shot of nudity is allowed in PG-13 as long as it's not sexual and doesn't show the groin area. PG-13s also get one f*ck, as long as it too isn't said in a sexual context. So, "F*ck you" would be allowed once and still keep the film PG-13; "Let's f*ck" implies sex and would make it an R. And the amount of allowed violence in PG-13 movies is really an American thing. In "This Film is Not Yet Rated" they discuss how in foreign films, they're a little more relaxed about nudity and sex on screen and very strict with regards to violence. In America, it's the other way around - a result of the overly religious population of our country and repression in general to nudity and anything perceived as sexual in nature.

I second Cube and Donnie Darko, too. I'd also second The Shawshank Redemption, but Frank Darabont directed The Green Mile right after that and they're both equally amazing.
There's a video of Shirley Bassey singing "Goldfinger" live that's incredible. Yeah, I love Beyonce's remix of "Crazy in Love" and agree there is something very Bond about it. Though, I have to admit, I think Sofia Karlberg's cover of it is a little better than Beyonce's redo. Sia's "Kill and Run" from The Great Gatsby is another one that could easily be a Bond theme.
It's OK but not amazing. At least she sang one note with power. I get the newer Bond films have a more serious, darker tone, but I wish the theme songs would go back to the belty-bombastic ones. The last really good one was probably Skyfall. No, actually the last best Bond song wasn't actually a Bond song. You all should look up Ivy Levan's "Who Can You Trust" (the full, 4+ minute version) from that Melissa McCarthy Bond-inspired comedy movie called Spy. They should hire the writers of that song to write the next Bond theme. It's amazing.
I was actually excited when I heard about what the new spin-off would be about, but after seeing the trailers for it, I have to say, I'm very disappointed. It doesn't seem like it'll be as good as I pictured it in my head.
You're right. The sweet spot with these zombie stories is always the initial discovery, panic and chaos. That's what I thought Fear The Walking Dead would be - follow the walker apocalypse from the beginning, but when they started to hold up in that suburb, that's when the show started to decline. I have liked the past few seasons, though, and it morphing into a sort of road trip western, but the initial seasons were disappointing.
I'd love a 7-season spin-off called The Walking Dead: Week One, sort of a mash-up of TWD and 24. Each TWD season is 16 episodes, so the show could play out in real time, each season being 16 straight hours from one of the days from the beginning of the apocalypse. Season 1 would be "Day One," Season 2, "Day Two," etc. I think a series like that would be really interesting, if they could keep the tension and momentum up for that long.

There are also a lot of songs she's done for other people I love that I wish we could hear her version of. Her version of Celine Dion's Loved Me Back to Life is especially good if you can still find it online.
I think you'll like it. When I did the reverse and watched the original after seeing the remake several times, it still affected me the same way. With a film done so brilliantly (twice, even!) it's hard not to feel all that tension, fear, frustration and despair by its end. The remake also has a great cast who deliver perfect performances (even the kid's a great actor).
Yeah. They're almost a shot-for-shot carbon copy of one another. Even the house looks the same (the layout and everything). I've seen them both (the remake first) and they're both equally great.
Yeah, there has to be a reason why we didn't see the killer's face in the beginning as he was walking away. It's too obvious that it's someone else. My theory is it'll be an unknown character played by Sarah Paulson. Remember she did an interview about this season teasing that she may pop up in it somewhere?. That's just my theory.
There IS still a huge market out there for I Love Lucy and Lucille Ball stuff. They have an entire museum dedicated to the show and its stars. There are new collectibles being announced all the time (check out all the stuff available sometime on websites like lucystore dot com). I still buy the calendars every year (2020 is available already). Time Life released a Lucy collection just last year with 12 discs of some of the best episodes from all her sitcoms. Her failed sitcom, Life with Lucy (which lasted 13 episodes, only 8 aired) is getting a DVD release this October. A collection of the colorized episodes (so far) of I Love Lucy was just released a couple weeks ago. There were Lucy Funko POP! figures released last year. The show and Lucy are still very profitable and there's no reason why they couldn't release the rest of I Love Lucy on blu-ray.
Watch her in "'night, Mother" sometime. She's incredible.
I knew going in that they chose to do that with the animals and honestly, it wasn't much of an issue except in Mufasa's death scene. Simba's voice sounded really upset and emotional but when they showed the close-ups of his face, his eyes were dead and not one tear. I mean, I get they wanted the animals to be more realistic and "live action" but for God's sake, if you're going to make them talk and sing, why not emote a little, too?
I felt the same way. (I know this seems unrelated but) It reminded me of that moment in Friends when Emily told Ross she didn't want him to see Rachel anymore. You knew the moment it happened, the relationship was over because nothing was going to come between two characters who've been through it all since the beginning, it was only a matter of time. I've seen people complain that Carol and Ezekiel breaking up at the end of the episode came out of no where but I knew it was over the second he said that to Daryl. I almost expected him to die at the end of the episode (since he didn't die on one of the pikes) but yet he smiles - I mean - he's still alive. For how long, I don't really know.
I agree about the Whisperers storyline. Honestly, when I heard about it happening in the comics many years ago, I thought, "God, that sounds so corny and stupid" but I was wrong. It really works on the show. When that hand unlocked the graveyard gate on last night's episode, I got chills. It was definitely creepy. I had been saying for a while that they need to make the walkers scary again and if they aren't going to evolve the walkers themselves, adding this human element to them definitely works instead. Never again will they be having a conversation in the foreground with a bunch of random walkers walking around in the background and them not doing anything about them. Because now, they might not just be walkers.
