JRR's llfe was up and down and interested; exciting, eh? How 'bout "arresting, intriguing, provocative' ?
Good God, couldn't you see the incidents and the people he was were in his books? Not just ideas, but that real situations. Sheesh. I noticed the spiders...wondered if there were clips on the edit floor. The movie was mostly fellowship and horror of war.
I also enjoyed the movie!

DId you see the movie? What is the point you may be trying to put forth? What made them 'stupid?' LOL, sometimes the trailers are so good you don't have to go to the movie.
I thought the same thing....and I do remember that in all of the Barsoom books there were no traveling cities :)
