Great post -- I couldn't agree more about the quick-edit images/flashbacks/whatever the heck they are. They're not artistic, they're just a cheap, annoying trick. I may not be a professional critic, but I've seen my fair share of films, and there is nothing praiseworthy about throwing together images that go by too quickly to be made out! I suppose the intention is to "disorient" the viewer, but umm, no -- every shot in your film should make sense, should have a point. Throwing together these images super fast so that no one can even make out what they are is a pointless technique that I'd expect to see in a freshman year film student's film, not something on HBO.
Right, I know that he definitely gave the story details through the end to David and David. I'm still just wondering if he's ever expressed in an interview how he *feels* about the show telling the final act of his story before he can.
It must be in an interview or article somewhere.
As for him trolling HBO, that's an interesting theory, but I doubt it. I would think he wouldn't compromise the integrity of his story by giving HBO a crappy, fake conclusion.
Yeah, seems the only reasonable option. If it was Dickon Tarly, then damn, he sure saved the f--- out of Jaime in this episode.
Only thing is, it's hard to imagine Bronn would be *that* loyal. He respected and maybe even liked Jaime, but that was one giant MF of a risk.

Yes, next season's six episodes will be "feature length." Doesn't necessarily mean they will all be 90 minutes, I think it could be more like 80-90? But maybe some go over.
Great post!! I totally agree! It's distressing to see the younger generation (I guess it must be them?) not appreciating the much more artful way to present a horror film.
I don't think we should fear that the more intelligent or artful horror films will ever vanish though... there'll always be the big dumbed-down moneymakers, but I see no reason there won't also always continue to be "smaller" films. There are plenty of studios and there'll always be plenty of interest in artful filmmaking.
