The suits and masks seemed to be S.O.P. for anyone who was inverted or could possiblly come in contact with their doppelganger. Presumably most members of the red team were part of the original siege.
I think this whole segment would have been more successful from a film making standpoint without the armies. Keep the infiltration team small and stick with stealth. In theory, the only reason there is a large resistance amry is Sator is reacting to the blue teams attept to stop the events of the past.

This is also something I would have liked. The first act seemed to move from set piece to set piece way too quickly. I would not want any more runtime but I feel like there was opportunity for better exposition dumps in the first and third acts.
I went and saw a screening of Inception last weekend and was amazed again at the amount of exposition that's pretty seamlessly integrated into that movie.
Also, I actually didn't notice the audio problems so many are complaining about. I'll consider myself fortunate.
I'm in Kansas City, MO. The local theater I go to has been open all summer with limited seating. On the whole we've been very lucky with covid here.
No I did not. It was exactly what I expected it to be. A showy action movie that perfectly exemplifies Nolans style. I dont think people with this criticism understand what it means.
If this is you, go watch Tree of Life. Its also a visually stunning movie from a well respected auteur.
I enjoyed it considerably more than Interstellar. Probably my least favorite as well, though close with Dark Knight Rises. After first viewing I think I'd rank Trnet 5th among his features.
I just got back from seeing it 2 hrs ago and I really don't think it was that confusing. The first act is intentionally obtuse and I found it rewarding once events started going backwards. It's very plot heavy and there's definitely no hand holding but that's what makes Chis Nolan great. I'll be seeing it again for sure though
What part of the sequence of events at the end of the movie leads you to believe that that much time was able to pass before Loki arrived. She clearly drives the truck into the back yard hastily.
She does not back down the driveway and drive off with his tools and gun to ditch everything and then what, walk back to the house to kill the girl. There is still heavy traffic as Loki drives to the Hospital indicating it not likely to be latter than 9pm.
Yes, its worth seeing for Joaquin's performance alone. Even more so if you're remotely interested in the character of the Joker. Personally I'm generally not a fan of comic book movies either.
And yes, it's a bit derivative but at least its inspirations are from great films and not the dreck that Hollywood churns out every other week. IMO its worth your time. You could certainly do a lot worse.
Statistically the white audience is still the majority in 2019 in the US. And you seem to have missed my point.
God I hope you're trolling. Movies aren't made for a specific (fill in the blank) audience. They're made for anyone that takes the time to watch them.
It's a wonder the Godfather ever won anything considering it was <i>"made just for a white, Italian, audience."</i> Not to mention Boyz N the Hood getting two nods since it was <i>"made just for a black audience."</i> And the coup de gras, Avatar, a movie <i>"made just for a blue audience."</i>
I would say it's far more likely to be Arkham, a place already established in the film and in the lore than some made up hospital. Again, this is a case where I believe the most likely conclusion is the correct one.
The 3rd act is similar to Home Alone, but with explosives, bullets and blood. It's gloriously brutal.
I would argue that this movies "controversy" was a completely manufactured narrative perpetuated for reasons I can't understand. I didn't find anything about the film controversial. There have been far more violent films released this year that received no attention at all. Likely because they arnt good and wouldn't merit a reponse.
That said I think Joaquin will certainly be nominated. Will he/should he win is yet to be seen. Most award contenders are still to be released. I think he was better than both Brad and Leo in One upon a time.

I completely agree. Thats largely the social commentary presented along with the masses rising up against the power elites.
I can't remember an example before this of media perpetuating a false narrative of their own creation bashing an otherwise well received movie before it's even released. The idea that Joker is controversial because of its (very limited) violence is laughable. I would direct those writers to the next theater over and watch the latest installment of Rambo.
I too believe everything presented pretty much played out as intended. Outside of the obvious unreliable narrator the film stays well grounded in it's own reality. I didn't leave with any unanswered questions. The last scene is a hard cut to Arkham. At this point hes been apprehended and locked up. Time has passed and hes aware of the Wayne's murder. Of course we know he eventually escapes.
I think interpreting this as some elaborate put on by the director and searching for what's real and what's not, and is it all in his head is akin to believing the Hot Tub Time Machine suicide theory.
In this case I think Occoms Razor holds true. You just have to separate this from the other films because it wasn't trying to tie into any of them with the exception of setting up the context to the Wayne's murder.
That's good to hear. Splitting the movies the way they did actually should make for an interesting viewing experience. It sorta tells the same story from a whole different perspective. There's also a great marketing opportunity for an edited together mega cut of both films.
not likely. although I suppose it is possible. his adult plot line fills up some pages but it would be fairly easy to write out.
