This. They're not planners, most of them, or they'd never get into it in the first place. Plus, movies tend to tell the stories of more impulsive types just because a character is more interesting when anything can happen at any moment. Nobody's going to a movie about an accountant. Perhaps he planned to take her hostage instead. Every now and then you run into a DVD like this. Ray is another movie that they did this with. lol - large or small? Yeah, it's so easy to introduce drama when you have someone using a gun every ten minutes. Now making people laugh -- that's hard. Which wall is the third one? Because the "plays by his own rules" roles are the best kind to have, the most memorable. Leonard Nimoy Excellent in Star Trek and played a wonderful Jack the Ripper in a film by Nicholas Meyer. LOL Hrm, very thoughtful. Know anything about anime? Are there any examples that people who don't really care for anime nevertheless like? Beyond the Ghibli stuff? Hmm, being kinesthetic might be Si... One INTP guy I know can drive, but doesn't like to do it because he thinks he'll get into an accident. Walks everywhere, even to the grocery store. Another one drives regularly, but tends to be clumsy. Both of them don't pick up after themselves and you find their discarded clothes strewn about the floor. Any bells ringing? Could you be mistyped? An ISTP, for example, would swap Ne-Si for Se-Ni in the stack. Well, in my conception of you as an INTP, you would have developed Fe. This is also the function that would correspond to communicating well with others. Most everyone gets better with everything over time, but Fe is difficult for INTJs and ISTJs because they have it in their 7th slot. Maybe they don't want to donate to The Human Fund. ;) Introverts in general often end up being confidants because folks sense they don't go around talking that much. :) Anyway, I know that INTPs, because of their Ti, like learning and studying systems, so that is why I thought my words might not be wasted on you. :) I feel that earlier I didn't give a good enough reply and want to remedy that. Behind a type like INTP is a more thorough definition, in fact a stack of cognitive functions that the person uses to navigate the world. For INTP that would be 1. Ti - introverted thinking - internal building of logical systems 2. Ne - extroverted intuition - creating ideas, imagination 3. Si - introverted sensing - dwelling on past pleasures, avoiding past pains 4. Fe - extroverted feeling - reading others' emotions and communicating your own 5. Te - extroverted thinking - efficient planning organization of tasks 6. Ni - introverted intuition - discerning, divining the future 7. Se - extroverted sensing - dealing with the physical world, the senses 8. Fi - introverted feeling - empathy and authenticity About the status of these functions: 1. the one they grew up doing, that they do effortlessly, all the time, like breathing 2. the one that they learned how to do in their teens, and are good at 3. the one that they're not very good at, but by their late 20s start developing 4. the one that they aspire to and start developing in the 30s, but before that are not particularly good at 5. the opposite attitude to (1); their ability in it is strong, but they prefer not to use it 6. the opposite attitude to (2), also strong and not preferred 7. the blind spot that they are not good with at all and don't even see the point of 8. the trickster that only works for them about half the time Now the stack for INFP would be significantly different Fi Ne Si Te Fe Ni Se Ti So, to me, when an INTP says they have changed from T to F, what that means to me instead is that they are developing or have developed their 4th function. Congrats on doing that, by the way! Probably the best acted character as well. Many thanks! but I've decided the whole genre is just not for me. There are so many movies and so little time. I'll just look elsewhere. It's nice that M-B ideas are become more and more mainstream. The other night I was crossing the street and overheard a couple talking about how one of them was an ENTJ. It's proper use is mainly in enhancing communication and understanding. I also dislike using it for things like matching or career planning. Wish I had a great link for you. The observation of the linkage is my own, derived from experience more than anything. But there's a large community on youtube studying and talking about this stuff though. Some you might like are entitled - 8 INTP Males with Eric Wen, Eric The INTP, Joshua L, Andrew, Tim, Noah, Justin and Angel - 6 Male INTPs w/ Spacey (Stephen), Tim, Joel, Dave, Anthony and Warmest Robot | Type Talks E41 - The INTP Personality Type "The Rational Theorist" with INTP Spacey | Type Talks E32 - INTP Myths with INTP Tim and Joel | Type Talks E21 Or just search for "INTP" "Joyce Meng". Ugh, cannot stand horror movies. Just finished Byzantium, which seems to be one of the better ones, but still, not my cup of tea. Nothing compared to what that generation would have said to you. Next time don't suggest someone is a liar or idiot. You are so wrapped up in the current "watch it, rent it or skip it" paradigm that you are unable to imagine any other. I repeat. When it came out, they decided to skip it. Period. When some years later it came out on video and also on network television, they thought, oh well, might as well check out what the fuss is all about. That's how and when they came to see it, okay? WTF is so difficult to understand? As homework, go watch on youtube the Siskel and Ebert initial review of it. They were not particularly enthusiastic. Combination of being open to trolling -- INTPs are the most frequent trollers on the web -- and the Libertarian approach to forum moderation. I know an INTP guy, by the way, who after being banned from a site created his own forum site where the rule was no moderation at all except for porn. Lasted a couple years before it all collapsed in ruins. Just as a point of information and not trying to start an argument, actually we have our type for life, but as we grow older we develop more the letters that we do not have. Moreover, the "test" (really a diagnostic) does not *determine* anything. It's just meant as a signpost to help one figure out the correct type. After taking it, one is to read the description of the suggested type and those close to it and from those decide which type is most accurate. So prosaic, huh? They watched it years later, of course. Don't think so. Was hanging out with strippers for years.
