I've seen every episode. It may not be my favorite cop show of all time, but it's consistently entertaining. Being a lifelong residence of the Chicago area, I love seeing the city featured every week. I especially enjoyed when Burgess continued trying to kick the rapist after Oliksky was pulling her away! I saw this for the first time several months ago and loved it. I think the intelligent screenplay helped elevate the "B" status of the film. A few weeks ago I saw the remake, "Back From Eternity", also directed by John Farrow. It wasn't a bad movie by any means, but was certainly not an improvement on the original. I recently saw Show Boat for the first time. I didn't care for the movie overall, but William Warfield was great. I met him many, many years ago (late 80s) when he performed at a venue I ushered at as a volunteer. He was very warm and gracious when shaking my hand in greeting. Hearing his live performance that day was memorable. I just started watching this and thought the exact same thing - I couldn't tear my eyes away from Ann Dvorak, which says a lot about her acting skills when she's the center of attention while standing next to Lana Turner. I'm reading her biography "Ann Dvorak: Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel". I'm going to try to make the switch to poster! I was primarily a lurker on IMDB - maybe made 10 posts over 7 or 8 years. But I lurked daily - no, several times a day. My main interest is classic Hollywood films, so a lot of posts were several years old - no point in replying to those. I have commented occasionally on the "Chicago" shows: PD, Fire, etc. I logged in so infrequently on IMDB I can't even remember my user name over there. I am excited about this replacement site - maybe I'll end up being a regular poster. Thanks, Jim! I'm so happy to see there are now posts on the films of classic Hollywood. I really missed them over these last several weeks. I appreciate your hard work. Thanks, Jim! I appreciate all your hard work. One of my favorite movies of all time. It's being released in theaters in early March and I have plans to see it for the first time on the big screen. View all replies >
