I'm watching it tonight and I agree with the poster that Dr No and the others from Connery were Bond at his cold best. It's very hard to watch the Brosnan to Craig collection of Bonds. I always prefer watching the earlier films to Roger Moore's last. I thought Craig Sheffer stole the show in this one as Seagal's dark adversary. Hard to believe the last flick I saw him in was SE Hinton's "That was then this is now" with Emilio Estevez and Larry Scott back in 1984. His role in that movie was a far cry to his intenseness in this movie. Seagal was mostly in the shadows as he has been in his DTV movies of late, and was just there for the ride.. I laughed..Code of Honor is a keeper. The book is much better than the film. I recently watched this movie after not seeing it in years and it hasn't aged well with the typical Hollywood smoking scenes that pop up and Sandra Bullock appears too puppy dog after Matthew which sidetracks the film unnecessarily..she was miscast - In the 90s and before it was common for actors/actresses to casually light up in movies before the big tobacco crackdown snuffed them out of films as "subliminal advertising". As far as LL's character it worked when she needed stress relief but seemed like overkill every other time she tried to light up.. Oddly Seagal never whispered in this movie in the parts he actually did speak in, which was rare for his DTV movies. His voice in the movie is on par with his earlier movie career.. It smashed through the window. Jack moved on by that point, he probably knew it was too late to change David's outcome once he turned wolf. While not his best movie, for a late Mel Gibson entry it's solid enough in the action/dialog dept (7.5). He had become a liability after learning the truth. I like to watch Trick or Treat just to see that old scrooge go to hell in the end. It was a downright evil episode. It would be nice if CBS studios would release the set with better audio quality if nothing further can be done about the picture. So many times I have to turn up the audio on episode after episode, there's no consistency there. Some eps were stereo while others are monaural. Also add subtitles to the episodes and some unreleased extras to cash in again. Just an awesome Seagal movie, period. Just watched it. That scene was among many intense scenes. Good movie... This was a great popcorn flick, I enjoyed the over-the-top action in the movie.. Nah the 2nd film was the absolute worst in the series, period. Since I can't edit my previous post: 1-The original: introducing all the original characters and with an emphasis on street racing before the series got too crazy beyond belief.. 2-Fast and Furious: the first true sequel that didn't sidetrack from the original, taking the series to that point up a couple notches in the action dept but not too crazy, keeping things flowing with Brian and Dom working together part 4 had a compelling storyline about avenging family that was enjoyable.. 3-Fast and Furious 6: I enjoyed this one as a follow-up to Fast and Furious (Forget Fast Five, I'll get to that in a moment) and a bridge to Tokyo drift/Fast 7..both this movie and Fast 5 reveal the angle that Letty survived the events of the 4th film, but I prefer Hobbs in this film needing Dom's help instead of being gung-ho in Five which I felt clashed with what was going on with Dom's team.. 4-Fast 7: I enjoyed the fast paced action in this one immensely as a follow-up to the sixth film rather than Tokyo drift, which was a major sidetrack story in the series..the Hobbs-Shaw fight was an intense highlight, we get to meet Mr Nobody and the ending with Dom and Brian was nostalgic..I prefer to watch 7 right after 6 (skipping Tokyo drift) just to save time during a marathon.. 5-Tokyo drift: Han's movie, let's be honest for those of you that want more story about him after Fast and Furious 6 then this one is your movie, not mine..a major sidetrack movie; I did appreciate the drift scenes in Japan and the short Dom cameo and the beginning race in the construction zone but not enough to put this movie ahead of Fast 7.. 6-Fate of the Furious: It seems these movies get more outrageous with every passing film and Fate is right up there with 4,5,6,7..all through the movie you could feel the missing presence of Paul Walker and I didn't care much for Cypher as Dom's adversary, her henchman was a cool, dark adversary..I also got a kick out of Eastwood's son as Little Nobody.. 7-Fast Five: I like how this one introduced us to Hobbs with a longer goatee than he had in 6, 7 & 8.. it had the only fight scene between him and Dom but other than that I felt this movie dragged story-wise, the beginning was a bit slow to develop and the unbelievable stunts: watching Dom and Brian improbably survive a 100 foot bridge plunge into the water off a speeding car or how about dragging that huge safe around Rio smashing everything in it's path (not to mention never getting stuck) the ending was a bit weak too.. I prefer to watch Fast and Furious 6 as a sequel to 4 and just bypass this one.. 8-2 fast 2 furious: another sidetrack movie in the series, I don't know where to begin with this mess of a fast and furious movie..I only watched it once in the theatre and that was enough! As of right now: 1-Original 2-Part 4 3-Part 6 4-Part 7 5-Part 3 6-Part 8 7-Part 5 8-Part 2 1 2(sidetracked) 4 5(sidetracked) 6 3(sidetracked) 7 or: 1,4,6,7 to save time during a F&F marathon That is scary accurate only he died as a passenger by someone else's hands.
