Forest Whitaker was the most lame psychic in that movie, ever! Most of the time he was just stating the obvious.
I'm really surprised to discover that a Canadian used that on a regular basis. From my understanding, it was primarily used by American "hicks" and "hillbillies."
Not a single word but an expression..."hemming and hawing." It's pretty damn archaic, dating back to the 1600s, and the last time I heard it used was during the late 80s. It basically means to beat around the bush, to waste time about getting to the point. I just always thought there was something comical about it.

Why? What kind of sense does that make? He also repeatedly said last night that "nobody" here likes me, an allegation he's been making for years now. So why should I join people, according to his twisted thinking, that secretly hate me? Also, he's always bragging about how he'll constantly attack me, basically will make life hell for me, so why can't I take a shot at what I see as his blatant hypocrisy when I see the opportunity? And btw, those threats always turn out to be just hot air.

Like you, I was a "dash man" on the track team in high school, only we referred to those races in yards i.e., 50 and 100 yard dash. After that I became a distance runner. I've already mentioned to you before how I used to do the 10k races. That distance became ideal for me, seemed to fit perfectly into my lifestyle. Training for a marathon is a full time job in itself and it's for people that have desk jobs.
You don't need to "convince me" yet that's exactly what you're always trying to do. It's your go to allegation and you repeat it ad nauseam.
