Do you guys think the writer is so smart that they know how bad this is, or do you think they actually think the writing is good?

Nah! They're just lazy. Or untalented. It takes work and skill to create a good script which makes sense.

I bailed after the second room. Gave it a go but if all you have creatively is people dodging “lightning” in one room & then people dodging “lasers” in the next, I’m out.

No shit?… Glad I didn’t make it that far. It’s like a 7 year old came up with the ideas. Was there a room with lava when you touched the ground?

Close. It wasn't lava, it was a floor of quick sand.
