Surprised

I'm surprised they did this...so weird. My mom and her siblings grew up with this show and were disappointed it was just raped.

I'm again, surprised they didnt get sued almost. Could you imagine if an older person didnt know it was a horror movie and had their grand kid watch it?

What's next? Rugrats Kills?

I honestly dont care either way. I watched maybe less than 5 minutes of it and was done.

I don't see how they can sue, really. If the person lets their children or grandchildren see it without realising that it's a horror movie, that's on them. The studio isn't pretending that this is anything other than what it is. I get that mistakes happen, but really the responsibility of checking out what kids are watching falls with the adults whose care they are in. Suing would be pointless, you wouldn't have a case.

I quite liked The Banana Splits as a kid, but I found it funny that they released this movie. Then again, I wouldn't say it was something I massively adored. I guess the advice is to not pay too much attention to this movie if you aren't interested in it, so as not to let it spoil your childhood memories.

I'm just saying if it was something that I created, I would want to approached because that shows some kind of respect. I have no idea the behind of the scenes for this movie, from what I read it didn't say much about the original shows creators.

I know we are in the reboot and remake era, but you never really know what it's doing/affecting certain people. When I saw the trailer, I though stupid, but it was something familiar at least.

seriously??? read what the movie is about... you would know it was a horror movie.

Not everyone reads the description and sometimes it's not even correct. BUT the fact that it was on SYFY would be a dead giveaway to me that it's a horror movie...or at least in that category.

I once had an idea of a bank heist movie where the robbers disguised themselves as the Banana Splits because I figured they would be an obscure 70s reference. So it is kind of funny to me that they were adapted into a horror movie.

There won't be any lawsuits because the creator, Hanna-Barbera Productions, has been defunct since 2001. The company was absorbed by Warner Brothers Animation, which now has the rights to the H-B characters. This movie is distributed by Warner, so I guess they feel they can do whatever they want with the property.
