If I was a moderator I'd delete posts that are disrespectful in that way ... i.e. you must be an idiot or not know anything about such and such because you disagree with me. Anyone who starts out like that is a fool and not worth listening to and doesn't add anything to a discussion of movies, and even encourages other fools to jump in and hijack any possibility of actual movie chat. shareIt is pretty interesting. I watched it a few days ago. It hits hard, and is hard to watch. It makes you think. I can't see where it is pretentious, or trash, and the comment to go watch a Marvel movie is on target since the two types of movies are almost polar opposites. I'd rather see Nomadland than any Marvel movie, but I would not blame adolescent children for wanting to watch Marvel movies. Any adult who makes a point of making a comment like that and would rather watch Marvel movies is mentally "challenged".
I can be critical of Nomadland, but within the context of a movie that was thoughtful and a human story and is relevant to a lot of Americans. Marvel silliness is not relevant to anything.
Problem is the marvel and Disney stuff is so industry saturated right now it's like Fortnite of the game it makes the $$$$ for the young kids. full of media saturation mainstream you go to any movie site or social media there is billions of posts about it more activity. the gen z generation have a short attention spam. and they have grown up to 23 movies of that in just over a decade. along with star wars and remakes of every Disney movie. it is rare to see any comments on a movie like this.. look it has only 1 page on here. bet if I went to end game I would see about 100 pages of people debating about time travel concepts.
but if you love movies like me and many others I can watch a classic film noir from the 1940 then the next day watch one of those CGI action marvel movies.. then watch a movie like this and see the art and appreciate it all. the younger generation are less accepting with other movies I am almost 40. and you are not a true movie fan if you can't accept other genres and generations of movies.

Completely disagree with you there. when I was aged between teenage years to about mid 20s I probably would have been obsessed with Marvel movies and couldn't wait to watch them, I used to be that way about the Batman movies. and star wars prequals. as I got older I got onto watching different generations of movies and genres.
Like I said it is hard to find someone that can watch a marvel movie tonight and tomorrow watch Nomadland and love Both it is to rare to see. it is as bad as console wars of people just not accepting both things as being great.
the older I am now I don't like action movies that much then when I grew up I was obsessed with them as a teenager, now it is eye rolling CGI. fan service. but I can at least appreciate it and for what it is. I don't have to say 'I love drama movies like the father and nomadland but action movies are for kids' no I believe in diversity. and a true movie fan that can be accepting with all genres. I am talking genres here not the movie itself. there are people out there that will say ' I won't watch anything before 1995 it's to old' or I won't watch that it is black and white film or a foreign film with subtitles. those people are not true movie fans, the same as if someone says 'all marvel movies suck they are just action for kids' is completely ignorant same goes for 'oh nomadland is boring those movies put me to sleep'
